A ‘heartbroken’ Jacqui Burfoot wept as she begged Ryan Donnelly to take her back on Monday’s Married At First Sight.
The couple’s relationship was all but over after Sunday night’s commitment ceremony in which Ryan opted to leave the experiment.
However, with Jacqui writing ‘stay’ the couple will remain another week to see if their relationship can be salvaged.
The controversial bride, who has been hurtling a raft of insults at her reality TV husband on social media for the past couple of weeks and claimed she wanted out of the relationship, was adamant she was ‘in love’ with Ryan and she was still willing to do anything to save their romance.
However, it seems that Jacqui may have more success on The Block, with the consultant likening their pairing to a home renovation.
‘I feel really sad after last night,’ Jacqui told producers.
‘I thought that the feedback I’m giving is for the betterment of both of us. I want it to work for happiness.
‘I’m working on improving. It’s like me renovating the home because I want to live there in the future.’
She kept the home improvement theme going as she, once again, burst into tears.
‘Maybe he’s just a chair and I was trying to get him to be a door. Maybe the chair just needs comforting right now,’ she said.
If Jacqui had any hopes of salvaging the relationship, they were set to be crushed by Ryan who said he was ‘resolute’ in his decision to write ‘leave’.
‘I feel good in my decision I feel resolute but also righteousness as well,’ Ryan told producers.
‘I do not want to be a part of this relationship anymore.’
He continued: ‘I’m not here to be moulded and changed and shaped into something I’m not. I’m good with who I am.’
Jacqui then paid a visit to Ryan’s apartment, clearly hoping for a reconciliation, and quickly broke down again as she revealed she was ‘in love’ with him.
Ryan welcomed Jacqui into the apartment and the pair sat on the couch for a heart-to-heart.
Jacqui began to sob uncontrollably as she pleaded her case.
‘I’ve loved you since the day I met you,’ she insisted.
‘I really tried Ryan. and I’m still trying because I don’t want to walk away from this. I think you’re one of the greatest humans I’ve ever met.’
Despite Jacqui’s platitudes, Ryan remained unmoved.
‘We both tried,’ he told Jacqui.
‘I care about you. I don’ know if I have the energy to all that. on board at this point. I’m weary.
He also seemed perplexed by Jacqui asking how she can show that she accepts Ryan.
‘How do you tell you how to accept?’ he asked producers.
‘It should just come if you have the capacity to do so.’
Ryan then hammered what could possibly be the final nail in their relationship coffin with: ‘I’m not ready to move back into the apartment at this point.’
The message appeared to get through to Jacqui finally, who then claimed to producers she went to extreme lengths to accept Ryan for who he is with an extraordinary statement.
‘Honestly I’ve already Googled how to show someone you accept someone. There’s nothing I can do,’ a crestfallen Jacqui said.
It comes after Jacqui and her new beau, fellow MAFS star Clint Rice, made shocking comments about Ryan in the latest chapter of the pair’s social media war of words.
A TikTok video saw the recently minted couple taking questions from fans and a comment from one viewer caused Jacqui to offer a vile comment in response.
The curious viewer asked: ‘Where is Ryan,’ to which a slightly annoyed Clint replied with ‘He’s probably in Campbelltown.’
Jacqui was far less kind with her answer offering quite the crude response, making a comment that is too explicit to publish.
She seemed quite chuffed with her answer as did Clint with the pair giggling like schoolchildren after hearing a rude joke.
On Monday, Jacqui made a wild claim about the show’s production after she decided to stay during Sunday’s final Commitment Ceremony.
She claimed production forced her to remain in the experiment despite wanting to leave.
‘Tonight I packed my bags and tried to leave but was stopped by production. They refused to let me leave and said I had to stay as per the rules of the experiment,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘They told me Ryan was feeling crushed and it was my chance to make him feel included and accepted as a human.
‘So guess that was my final job. I didn’t see any future with him. I wanted to leave amicably as but no more. Tomorrow I take the date option to meet someone new.’
