MARRIED At First Sight’s Adam Nightingale has addressed the romance rumours swirling around him and co-star Amy Kenyon.
The Nottingham barber was grilled by BBC East Midlands about the pair’s relationship and laughed he knew the question was coming.
Speaking inside his barbershop, Adam said: “Me and Amy, she’s like the female version of me. We’re so alike.
“We’ve both said to each other, yeah, we find each other attractive but our friendship’s that good we’d never want to spoil that.
“So I’ve always said to Amy I’d rather have you as a friend in my life than nothing.
“I think me and Amy will be staying friends for, I’d like to think the rest of my life because she’s someone that I do trust and I feel I can tell her anything.”
During the series, Adam was married to Polly Sellman, but he never truly connected with her on a romantic level despite them lasting as a couple until the final vows.
Meanwhile, Amy was overwhelmed by her TV husband Luke Debono’s constant sexual innuendos and sickly-sweet compliments.
“There’s nothing romantic going on with me and Amy,” insisted Adam. “We’ve been behaving, we’re like best friends.
“I am on the market. I’m single, ready to mingle, I’m not getting married any time soon.”
The pair risked sparking a feud after an eyebrow raising display at a recent cast party.
One snap shared on social media showed Adam jokingly proposing to Amy after they each split from their show partners.
Emma Barnes and Nathan Campbell posted a photo of them in the same pose – with fans suggesting it was a dig at their co-stars.
It followed Amy fuelling her bitter fall-out with Polly by sharing private messages between them.
Taking to Instagram, Amy shared WhatsApp messages from a fiery row with Polly, accusing her of spreading false rumours about her and Adam during partner swap week.
Amy, who insists that her relationship with Adam was purely platonic, accused Polly of being a hypocrite.
Screenshots revealed Polly had defended Amy in private conversations, but later appeared to fuel rumours about a potential affair during filming.
Amy told fans: “Proof that the rumours Polly’s fuelling aren’t true.”
In one exchange, Amy expressed her frustration, writing:
“I always said to you I’d rather you of told me anything you saw that was putting me in detriment, and you did.
“Screenshot this f*****g convo and put it on ur story.”
The feud escalated when Amy uncovered a fan comment accusing her of inappropriate behaviour with Adam, which Polly appeared to like.
