Married at First Sight made for explosive viewing during the latest episode as Adam Nightingale and his wife Polly Sellman had another heated argument.
During Monday’s show (November 11), tensions were at an all-time high as the remaining couples sat down for their final dinner party. But before they got the chance to tuck into their first meal, Polly and Adam had a blazing row about their relationship.
Feeling unappreciated, Polly pointed out that Adam hadn’t put in enough effort during their time together. But Adam was quick to disagree leading to a bitter exchange of words.
Explaining that her emotions are “not a joke”, Adam replied: “So why do you want to be with me?
“Why are you begging it off me? If I’m such a bad person yeah, then why the f*** do you want to be with me?”
Adam also added: “I don’t think it’s going to work.” But when Polly took things a step further by labelling Adam a “narcissist”, he lost his composure and stormed out of the room.
As things continued to explode between the pair throughout the evening, viewers at home headed over to social media site X to share their thoughts. After watching Adam and Polly’s relationship throughout the weeks, fans deduced that Adam did tell Polly from the beginning that he was not feeling the relationship, despite Polly insisting that she’s been “led on”.
One viewer said: “Polly saying Adam led her on. Girl, he said from the start he doesn’t fancy you, and you basically forced him to give you compliments. Move on hun, he won’t ever like you.”
Another penned: “The way Polly spoke to Adam was completely vile! No relationship will work with that level of disrespect!”
A third shared: “Honestly Polly he said on day one, you weren’t his type. Adam has been pretty honest throughout you just don’t like what he’s saying.”
Some fans also took Polly’s side, with one writing: “To me, the journey has been Polly making excuses for him; and Adam has basically made excuses- he never liked her- he just wanted to be on TV!”
