The ending of this year’s Married At First Sight UK is set to be as explosive as the rest of the series has been, with half the couples reportedly having shock splits in the final vows.
The Channel 4 dating show has only four couples left, Adam and Polly, Sacha and Ross, Amy and Luke and Nathan and Lacey.
But it seems that only two of them will see the experiment through together, with the other two choosing to go their separate ways, according to The Sun.
An insider told the publication: ‘It’s very dramatic, emotional viewing. The finale basically sees the show end with a 50% success rate as two of the remaining four couples decide to continue with their relationships outside the show, while the other two call it a day.’
At the end of MAFS, the couples come together for a final vows ceremony where they make their final decision on whether they want to stay together or split.
The source teased that viewers would be shocked by the scenes airing next week, and things would get very emotional.
They said: ‘There are lots of tears and the outcome will surprise fans of the series.
‘Of course, there are two reunion episodes to follow after the final vows, so it remains to be seen if the two surviving couples are still an item months after filming wrapped.’
It comes after this week saw previous fan-favourite couple Kieran and Kristina call it quits after their marriage fell apart, leaving them and the experts in tears.
The pair had instantly shared a spark on their wedding day and seemed to have one of the show’s strongest connections.
However, cracks began to show between the former ‘it couple’, after Kieran admitted he didn’t feel like getting ‘intimate’ with his spouse and began comparing her to his ex-girlfriend.
They both decided to leave the experiment on Tuesday, after Kieran expressed fears he was ‘wasting’ his time in their marriage and said he wasn’t sure he could handle Kristina’s Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
The week prior saw Emma and Caspar also make the decision to leave, after agreeing they both weren’t the right match for each other and kept clashing.
The start of their marriage didn’t get off to a good start when the gardener admitted he didn’t feel a ‘sexual spark’ with Emma after she wore a bikini for the first time on their honeymoon, saying he prefers a ‘petite woman’ over a curvaceous size 14 figure.
Caspar previously accused the E4 show of ‘f***ing with his life’ by pairing him with Emma, while the past few weeks saw her admit to him she didn’t know if she liked him enough to stay in their marriage.
Last month also saw Sionainn and Ryan dramatically quit the show after having an explosive argument over shoelaces.
Sionainn broke down in tears as she admitted feeling uncomfortable because Ryan had shown a different side to him off camera, which reminded her of an ex.
Their huge blow out had erupted off screen, with the couple seen informing the other contestants what had happened and why they had decided to leave.
Sionainn claimed the father-of-one had revealed to her that he had been faking his feelings, and never actually cared for her.
However, one couple that bid farewell from the experiment have seemingly found their way back to each other, despite a turbulent relationship.
Alex and Holly shared a rollercoaster journey on the show, clashing multiple times with Alex expressing his preference to marry someone without children and also hinting he’d be open to swapping wives.
They eventually called it quits, with Holly blasting Alex as ‘rude’, ‘arrogant’ and a ‘bull*****ing b*****d.’
However, they shocked fans last week, after being spotted passionately kissing on a night out together in Manchester, suggesting they were giving things another go.
It comes after The Sun previously claimed that Alex did not take part in filming for the upcoming reunion episodes
A source said: ‘Alex didn’t film either of the two reunion episodes, which seemed really odd to the rest of the cast.
‘It was unclear whether it was Channel 4’s decision or his own, but there was a lot of chatter about it amongst the brides and grooms who expected him to be there with his ex, Holly.’
The 28-year-old has been hit by a wave of backlash and controversy, after being accused of gaslighting Holly on the show, while a string of women accused him of domestic abuse.
A petition was even started to edit him out of the show over the allegations, with one person branding him a ‘dangerous individual’.
While it was later revealed that Alex abandoned his RAF post to go on the reality series without permission.
He was seized by military police on his return and sentenced to 34 days in a military prison, eventually serving 24 days.
