Georgia Harrison has addressed concerns from fans about her wellbeing during the live Love Island All Stars final on Monday evening.
Viewers of the ITV2 reality show picked up on Georgia’s ‘awkward’ chat with Anton Danyluk as the couple came in fifth place during the finale.
The couple have faced serious scrutiny over the legitimacy of their relationship over the past few weeks and have faced a rocky road to romance.
But taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Georgia once again defended their relationship and insisted she was just ‘nervous’ during the final.
Georgia wrote: ‘If I’m being honest the last week was really challenging for me and I was nervous at the final with such a big crowd and also the ex Islanders who had recently voiced strong opinions on me and Anton as a couple.’
Georgia was referring to a recent episode of the show where the ex-Islanders came back into the villa to share their judgements on the couples.
The Islanders had to vote for who they thought the least compatible couple was and Georgia and Anton narrowly avoided being dumped as Arabella Chi and Adam Maxted were ultimately sent home.
During her statement, Georgia continued: ‘I couldn’t hide my apprehension but I can assure you I am very happy and looking forward to the future and appreciate him supporting me through my nerves.
While speaking to host Maya Jama during the final, Georgia looked less than impressed with Anton as he revealed that she was ‘heartbroken’ when she originally entered the South Africa villa.
The pair discussed how it felt that their fellow Islanders believed their romantic connection is fake after Georgia previously said Anton gave her ‘the ick’.
She said: ‘I just think I’m not use to relationships moving that fast and then feelings just grew slowly and it took a while to progress.’
Anton added: ‘It was difficult because what I think people didn’t realise was that Georgia came in here heartbroken when she came in.’
Maya replied: ‘We didn’t actually know that…’
Looking rather furious by the comment, Georgia awkwardly shut down the comment: ‘I wasn’t like that, let’s not talk about it’.
Maya then went completely silent along with the rest of the audience and villa but it was not made clear who actually ‘broke’ Georgia’s heart.
The pair did go on to say they are going to try and ‘see each other’ back home as Anton ‘comes to London once a week to film a podcast’.
ITV2 viewers quickly to to X to criticise Georgia H once again as they claimed she was ‘faking their romance’ just to get to the final.
One wrote: ‘Oh dear! All that minimal effort Georgia H put into a fake romance with Anton and they didn’t even win the £50K. What a waste of her acting talent!’
Another said: ‘Anton can never please Georgia, they won’t last a second on the outside. They are probably gonna argue on the plane back home’.
A third added: ‘Anton and Georgia won’t last 5 minutes on the outside might aswell call it a day now’
Another wrote: ‘Georgia H is not even giving Anton his number’.
A fifth said: ‘Georgia H is so visibly unenthusiastic about carrying things on with Anton outside the villa. Chemistry is non-existant. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but ultimately I feel like she just played the game and strung him along to coast along, stringing him along’.
Another added: ‘Poor Anton! He’s always saying the wrong thing and getting told off by the girl that he’s with! First Belle, now Georgia!’
It comes after Georgia H and Anton had a number of rocky days in the villa.
And after another brawl, which saw the duo sleep in separate beds, Anton turned to Toby to discuss how he is feeling about his relationship with Georgia.
Anton revealed in recent days that his feelings for Georgia are getting stronger and stronger each day but was unsure if it was being reciprocated.
While they seemed to have squashed the drama following Tuesday’s tense challenge and appeared to be getting back on track, Friday’s episode saw the duo fall out once again.
Toby said: ‘In here, I feel like you feel everything. The good, the bad…’
Anton said: ‘I feel like a lot of it, I’ve just been holding it in for weeks and it all came out last night.’
Toby said : ‘You do have to depend on your couple in here a lot of the time. To be your rock, your person you can lean on…’
