Love Island viewers were full of praise for Anton Danyluk after he had some harsh words for Mitch Taylor on Thursday night’s show.
The gas engineer, 27, took aim at the Scottish fitness buff, 29, after the latter came to the former’s love interest Liberty Poole’s aid when she was crying.
Anton told Liberty he thought Mitch was chasing ‘clout’ and always talking about his social media following, suggesting his intentions might not be entirely noble.
But when this got back to Mitch, he confronted Anton over breaking ‘bro code’.
Mitch said: ‘You are talking to Lib behind my back going against me and it’s not really bro code’, before demanding: ‘Keep your nose out of my business’.
Anton swiftly hit back: ‘There is no bro code. There is right and wrong… I’m telling her my opinion. If your girl comes crying to me asking for advice I will give her my advice. You’ve been together seven days and made her cry twice…’
Unimpressed, Mitch said: ‘You’re just a d**k Anton,’ before calling him a ‘k***head’.
Unphased, Anton replied: ‘Look at yourself, don’t look at me. Be a man, not a boy.’
Viewers took to X in droves and were united in praise for Anton.
They wrote: ‘Did Anton just tell Mitch to be a “man”‘… ‘Not Anton putting Mitch in his place’… ‘Anton is eating Mitch up, “be a man, not a boy” ‘.
Others wrote: ‘Anton said “I said what I said” about Messy Mitch’… ‘Anton ate Mitch up so bad I’m crying.’
‘Anton holding his own u against Mitch and telling him stop being a boy, to be a man and stop making girls cry, was truly spectacular scenes.’
Elsewhere in the episode, Chris Taylor, 33, admitted he has a ‘crush’ on bombshell Sophie Piper, 25. He had been busy getting to know model Arabella Chi, 32, who he shared a number of steamy kisses with before Sophie, 25, entered the villa.
The younger sister of Rochelle Humes, who appeared on series six of the ITV2 dating show, chose Chris for a date where they seemed very flirty.
Following the date, Chris pulled Arabella for a chat revealing he and Sophie had ‘met before’ and there was a spark between them.
He said: ‘Me and Sophie have met before and I’ll be honest, I have had a crush on her for a bit. She ended the date saying she wants to keep chatting to me and I share the same sentiment’.
Arabella was completely taken aback by the conversation and went to ask Josh Ritchie for advice. She said: ‘It’s not the nicest feeling… did he really need to tell me that?’
The next morning Chris pulled Sophie for a chat and the pair walked around the villa holding hands leaving Arabella absolutely fuming. She said: ‘Oh my God, they are holding hands…is that real? Wow. That is so disrespectful.’
Later on in the show, ITV2 viewers will see Arabella confront Chris for his actions before the Islanders get a text to ‘gather around the firepit immediately’.
The message read: ‘Tonight there will be a recoupling in which the boys will choose the girl they want to couple up with.’
However unknown to the Islanders, ahead of the recoupling the public already voted which boy and girl Sophie and Tom would couple up with based on the dates they had the previous evening.
Sophie and Tom both received a text to reveal the decision but viewers will have to wait and see who will be coupled up with who.
It comes after Love Island viewers struggled to remember much about bombshell Sophie as she entered the villa alongside Tom Clare on Wednesday.
The islanders looked shocked as Sophie and Tom entered the villa but many fans appeared to be struggling to remember much about her.
