In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, December 11, 2023, Nicole and EJ refused to hear a well-intentioned Leo out resulting in their loss and his return to the dark side.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Melinda came through for Sloan yet again, Kate gave Abe solid advice, and Lucas resolved to make Dimitri’s life Hell. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Reverting To Type
Nicole (Arianne Zucker) answered the door to Leo (Greg Rikaart) and was immediately on edge. Try as he might, Leo (Greg Rikaart) couldn’t get Nicole to listen. Her hysteric rantings brought EJ (Dan Feuerrigel) into the room and he was just as upset as his wife.
Despite having the door slammed in his face, an undeterred Leo pressed on. Accessing the house via the secret tunnels, he’d no sooner floated the idea to EJ that his and Nicole’s baby was alive than he was on the floor clutching his aching jaw. EJ sure can pack a punch!
Opposite, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) put Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) mind at ease. That adoption attorney had called and apologized because…because…well because Jude wasn’t the baby that Melinda (Tina Huang) had initially promised them. Luckily they were in the running for a second baby, and that adoption went through. Phew!
Having tangled with Paulina (Jackée Harry) in the town square — apparently, Madame Mayor was buying Christmas presents for “Mind Your Damn Business,” a Salemite who the legal shark had never heard of — Melinda appeared on the scene and Sloan filled her in on the latest goings on. Melinda’s takeaway? Her buddy had hit it lucky. If they’d tested Nicole’s DNA, then the jig would have been well and truly up.
Now there’s just the little problem that is Dimitri (Peter Porte). Sloan needs that dog good and muzzled. Luckily Melinda still had contacts. Well-placed contacts that ensure Dimitri’s transfer to a maximum-security prison. That granted, Sloan breathed a sigh of relief. Now she’ll be able to put the past behind her and everything will be fine. Perfect even! Cue karma in the form of Leo.
Starting From Scratch
Meanwhile, Kate (Lauren Koslow) swung by the Johnson residence to see her old pal Abe (James Reynolds). Unfortunately, he still doesn’t remember her (keep up on what he does remember here). Even more unfortunate, he still doesn’t remember Paulina. And it seems the harder he tries to remember, the further back the memories are pushed.
Kate suggested the obvious: stop trying to remember. Just take things one day at a time. If nothing else, fall madly in love with Paulina all over again with a clean slate. Oh, how she wishes Roman (Josh Taylor) could forget a bit of their sordid past — hers particularly.
Later, Paulina visited and, after ascertaining that, no, nothing had come back to her hubby, she invited him to celebrate Christmas with her and Chanel (Raven Bowens). That way, they can make some new memories. Abe insisted that he’d like that very much.
Shoe’s On The Other Foot
Over at Pentonville, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) took great delight in seeing Dimitri in his prison-issue blues. Boy, was he excited that “the bastard who kidnapped his mother,” was finally being made to pay. And spoiler alert: Statesville has a way of breaking a man’s spirit, so Dimitri has that to look forward to.
Lucas’s boasting about the Salem Police Department busting Dimitri necessitated an update. He wasn’t caught, he turned himself in. All for the love of Leo. Lucas was dumbfounded. Dimitri fell on his sword for a pathetic parasite like Stark? What was wrong with him? Then again, he had to thank the artist formerly known as Lady Whistleblower. Without him, Dimitri would still be a free man.
Dimitri purred that he’d bequeathed his beau “a little parting gift,” one that he hoped Leo was cashing in on as they spoke. Soon the two men were tussling — the result of Lucas blaming Dimitri for the death of Nicole’s baby — which Kate had to break out.
Once Dimitri stormed off in a huff, Lucas informed Kate that he didn’t have anything to worry about where the baddie was concerned. He’d made friends with the warden, so he intended to have Dimitri put to work in the kitchen. “He’ll be the one dicing up the mackerel!”
