Lala Kent Slams Gavin Newsom Over Wildfires After Revealing Her Daughter Was ‘Struggling To Breathe’

Former Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is not a fan of what she’s been seeing from California’s government as wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area.

On Thursday evening, the Bravo personality took to Instagram to call for Los Angeles mayor karen bass and California governor Gavin Newsom to resign.

For the fourth straight day in a row, wildfires have torched Los Angeles, burning homes and even entire streets to the ground.

On Tuesday, fires tore through the ritzy enclave of Pacific Palisades, rapidly spreading to surrounding suburbs as a windstorm carried embers and debris in all directions.

Many celebrity homes have been destroyed, among them Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Paris Hilton, Melissa Rivers and Ricki Lake.

Currently, there are multiple fires that have yet to be contained, and many fear even more damage this weekend as winds continue to pick up.

Kent, who has already spoken out about how difficult it has been for her four-month-old daughter to breathe given the air quality in the area, took to the social media platform to share more of her thoughts.

‘I am not into politics, I don’t pretend that I know everything there is to know, I do my best to do my research, but at the end of the day, again, I can honestly say I don’t know much, and I don’t insert myself in conversations that I have no business being in,’ Kent began.

‘What I do know is that I have a brain, I know that comes as a shock to some of you, I have two ears, and I got two eyes that work, and when I look around Los Angeles, when I look around many parts of California, I say, not only is something not right, but I don’t like what I see,’ she continued.

‘I am a registered Democrat, I would say that I am a liberal person, I also will say Newsom and Bass gotta go,’ the reality star concluded.

That same day, Kent also shared a message about her newborn, Sosa.

‘This morning Sosa woke up and was really struggling to breathe,’ the Give Them Lala Beauty founder wrote.

‘I made the decision to pack my family up and come to Palm Springs, strictly based on the air quality. This is where we will stay until LA is safe again.’

Lala, whose full name is Lauren, gave birth to her second child on September 3. She also shares three-year-old daughter Ocean with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett.

The somber post from the reality television star continued, ‘This is one of the most devastating situations I have ever seen.

‘At this point, if you were not directly affected, you know someone who has lost everything.’

Pouring her heart out to her 2.4 million followers, she went on to say, ‘I’m obsessing over how we could be so underprepared.’

And, so far, Kent hasn’t been the only celebrity who has spoken out against California’s leadership during this difficult time.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com Thursday, former Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels slammed California politicians.

‘People are dead, homes have burned, it is not your first rodeo,’ she told DailyMail.com. ‘It is not.’

‘And when you know that you have a state that is prone to fire and – I’m going to give it to you – you’ve got global warning, you have literally a tinderbox,’ the Balance by Jillian Michaels founder continued.

‘Isn’t this the part where you take the highest taxed, highest income tax, highest sales tax, highest gas tax and rebuild the infrastructure?’

She was especially critical of California’s Governor Gavin Newsom and the way he has been handling the wildfire outbreak.

He has been the state’s Governor since 2019.

The fitness celebrity went on to claim that Newsom had known about the fires since early this week, when he began to mobilize certain resources to the area, but failed to take enough action.

She believes that he should have called in the National Guard to help battle these fires much earlier.

‘I’m sorry, and the reason for me this is super serious is because this guy wants to be your president. This now goes from a California problem to a country-wide problem,’ Michaels said about Newsom.

Actor Mel Gibson, whose house in Malibu was burned to the ground, also took issue with the state’s governor during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast this week.

The actor said, ‘I think Newsom said “I’m gonna take care of the forest and maintain the forest and do all that kinda stuff”—he didn’t do anything.’

Rogan chimed in that he believes that the California Governor had put tax dollars toward supporting the homeless population instead of fire prevention.

The Passion Of The Christ director agreed with the host before joking: ‘I think all our tax dollars probably went to Gavin’s hair gel.’
