Kyle Richards knows her current family situation is “kind of strange,” but claims it’s “working” for them.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, are separated and trying to determine what the future holds for the couple and their children.

Richards stressed that family is at the forefront while on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night.

“We’re a family no matter what, and we love each other, and we’re just trying to figure it out,” Richards told People. “So right now, it’s not on pause. We’re actively navigating through this and working through it.”

The Bravo star, 55, explained that she and Umansky, 53, are set to resolve their marital status, “sooner than later.”

“We’re not going to be in this situation forever, whichever way that goes,” she added. “Time will tell, probably sooner than later, but we’re hanging in there. The good thing is we get along well, and we were at an event last night together with the family.”

The “Halloween” actress admitted that she has yet to see the most recent episode of the reality series, which shows a preview of the couple’s separation, including when they sit down with their four daughters to break the news.

“We haven’t told you guys everything because we tried to protect you,” Umansky is seen telling the girls as Richards’ daughter Farrah Brittany wiped tears from her eyes.

“We’re still a family and we always will be. Always will be,” added Richards as she also wiped away tears while hugging the couple’s youngest daughter, Portia.

“Last week I didn’t watch because I didn’t want to watch that scene with my children and my husband,” Richards divulged. “I actually have no idea how that turned out, and I don’t think I want to know. I was there, and I don’t need to feel that again. So it’s really hard. It’s hard.”

The estranged pair share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 15, while Richards is also mom to Farrah, 35, with her ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.

Umansky and Richards separated in July 2023.

Since then Richards has been linked to country singer Morgan Wade, although she has denied they are an item.

“She plays a very important role in my life, as do a lot of my friends,” Richards explained earlier this month. “Everyone is so focused on Morgan. I’ve seen my other friends getting edited out of photos, they’re just snipped right out, tossed to the side, you know?”

Richards, who is producing a documentary about the singer, fueled romance rumors when they played love interests in Wade’s 2023 music video for “Fall in Love With Me.”

Other than Wade, Richards has not been linked by anyone else, while Umansky has been spotted energetically partying with younger women.
