James Kennedy has revealed his new career move after bidding farewell to Vanderpump Rules following 10 years on the show.
The former SUR-ver turned DJ, 32, has announced his partnership with Rehab Monster energy drink.
Kennedy shared the ‘big news’ to his Instagram on Thursday, with photos of him posing beside the famously caffeinated beverage and his Monster mini fridge.
‘BIG NEWS! I am so thrilled to announce my new partnership with Rehab Monster, the ultimate drink that keeps you refreshed hydrated and energized,’ he declared in the caption.
‘Whether I’m hitting the studio or the decks, Rehab Monster is my go-to for that boost I need! Can’t wait to share more adventures with you all. Cheers to new beginnings!’ he wrote.
‘We are so excited to have James joining our Monster Energy family,’ Dan McHugh, Monster Energy’s Global CMO, said in a release. ‘James’ boundless energy and talent for getting the party started, combined with Rehab Monster’s ability to revitalize and energize to ensure the party doesn’t stop, is the perfect pairing.’
According to the press release, ‘Rehab Monster is there to give everyone the boost to get the party started and then recover to do it all over again.
‘The revitalizing non-carbonated Rehab Monster harnesses the power of electrolytes, vitamins, and botanicals with the great taste of tea to make sure the fun never has to stop.’
Kennedy and Rehab Monster will be working together on exclusive content and events in the next few months.
The new venture comes several weeks after Bravo announced the upcoming 12th season of Vanderpump Rules will star an entirely new cast.
Kennedy was a member of the show’s core cast, which last also consisted of Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Lala Kent, James Kennedy and Scheana Shay.
The new cast consists of ‘close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessor,’ the network said as they announced the show’s renewal.
Lisa Vanderpump will be returning and the upcoming season will begin filming next year. The new cast and premiere date will be announced down the road.
Lisa stated in the announcement: ‘The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between. I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives.
‘How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules,’ she said.
Additionally, the show ‘will celebrate the past decade of heartbreaks, friendship rifts and scandals with a retrospective special highlighting the past 11 seasons’, the release states.
After the news, Kennedy broke his silence on the matter and admitted he was fighting back tears.
‘I can’t lie, I’m holding back some tears as I write this. It’s been a pleasure being a part of Vanderpump Rules and filling your TV screens with our lives over the past decade,’ he posted to Instagram.
‘I’ve dedicated my life to this show and I’m forever grateful to everyone who tuned in.
‘All of my dreams are finally coming true; this year I played Neon Carnival, EDC and Stagecoach and I have a Vegas residency – and I have all of you to thank.
‘It’s been a wild ride and I’m excited to see what the future holds. Although this is a bittersweet ending, for me, this is just the beginning! THANK YOU.’
