Paula Abdul, the legendary pop singer, has revealed that she’s been asked numerous times to join the The Real Housewives franchise but turned down every offer. The former American Idol judge hasn’t taken part in reality TV since her time on the singing competition, where she was sweet and positive. But the question still remains if she would even make a good housewife.
While attending the Homeless Not Toothless Hollywood Gala, Paula chatted with Page Six about her chance at starring on the Bravo network. The 60-year-old revealed that she had been asked “many, many times” to join, including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which was filming at the event hosted by Dorit Kemsley. The Grammy winner also revealed that RHOBH wasn’t the only franchise that wanted her to star in their show.
Would Paula Abdul Join The Real Housewives Franchise?
Paula joked with the outlet that she wasn’t going to say which franchise wanted her, saying, “I’m not gonna tell you.” It turns out that the former American Idol judge would easily fit into the group of women in Beverly Hills, as she’s friends with many of the women and had been for a “long time.” While Paula has no intention of joining the franchise for now, she did share that she was the “biggest fan,” sharing Kathy Hilton was her favorite even though the last season was “a lot of drama.”
Kathy has yet to reveal whether she will be returning for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 after a taxing season 12. Last season Kathy found herself in the middle of a media storm after it was reported she had a meltdown while the cast was in Aspen, Colorado. At the time, Lisa Rinna, who was the only other person in the sprinter van, claimed that Kathy said some extremely foul things about her sister, Kyle Richards. During the outburst, Lisa shared that Kathy threatened to ruin her sister and take the whole network down, but Kathy denies ever saying those things.
Kyle, who is returning for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13, isn’t on speaking terms with Kathy, so it could make it hard to film the sisters together. Even though Paula may not be appearing on the show, The World Is Not Enough star Denise Richards shared she would be returning in a “friend of” capacity and already has been caught filming a few scenes with the cast. Without a doubt, the “Straight Up” singer will be glued to her TV once the The Real Housewives season finally airs.
