CBS hit show Blue Bloods generated buzz earlier this year for various reasons.
For context, the television series failed to make the renewal list when the network first announced it in February. Another factor was because fans were worried that Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck wouldn’t be returning for the show’s fourteenth season if and when it was renewed. Blue Bloods follows the lives of New York police officers within the Reagan family.
In the series, Selleck portrays Frank Reagan, the patriarch of the Reagan family. Blue Bloods also stars Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Andrew Terraciano, Abigail Hawk, Gregory Jbara, Marisa Ramirez, Sami Gayle, and many others.
Deadline reported that in March, the series was returning for season 14 with its core cast, including Selleck, Wahlberg, Moynahan, and Estes. In addition to the stars reprising their roles, they have agreed to receive a 25% pay cut to keep Blue Bloods on air for an additional season.
Another indicator that suggests that Selleck was planning to return to Blue Bloods occurred during an interview with TV Insider last year when the actor disclosed his plans for the show after his co-star Bridget Moynahan shared that she wished Blue Bloods could reach 15 seasons. In the discussion, when Selleck heard about Moynahan’s desire for Blue Bloods, he told the publication that he was down to come back because he had bills to pay. Selleck said,
“I’ve got a mortgage. I’m game.”
Although Blue Bloods has been renewed for season 14 it is unclear when production will begin and when it is set to debut on CBS.
