A Married At First Sight insider has hinted at Carina Mirabile’s return to the 2026 season following her disastrous appearance on the show this year.
The 31-year-old bride who was partnered with Paul Antoine during the experiment, is said to be ‘TV gold’, with a source claiming producers may be eyeing her off for a comeback next year, reported New Idea on Thursday.
When asked about the potential return, Carina admitted she would gladly go back on the controversial Nine show to take another shot at finding love, even though her experience with Paul, 31, ended in tears.
‘Just because my TV marriage with Paul didn’t work out doesn’t mean I don’t think the experiment works,’ she told the publication.
‘I would absolutely go through it all again if it meant that I meet my match.’
The source also claimed Carina wasn’t the only bride producers were looking at bringing back into the fold, with Katie Johnstone also a contender for the 2026 line-up following her failed ‘marriage’ to Tim Grommie.
‘They are TV gold,’ the insider said, adding producers would take Carina and Katie back ‘in a heartbeat’.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Nine for comment.
It comes after Carina’s TV husband Paul did a stunning about face while attempting to rewrite history in what was a dramatic MAFS Reunion on Sunday.
The newly single groom was left heartbroken and in tears after Carina jilted him at Final Vows.
But absence certainly hadn’t made Paul’s heart grow fonder for Carina in the four weeks since the fateful day.
In the interim, Paul had apparently rewritten the events of the experiment, casting Carina as the villain in the pairing.
‘I had suspicions that she obviously had a lot of insecurities, that she obviously had crazy jealousy tendencies and she proved my point at Final Vows,’ Paul stunningly told producers before his reunion entrance.
He added there was no hope of a reconciliation and even doubled down on the cruel description of Carina he wrote in his Honesty Letter.
‘There’s no hope whatsoever with me and Carina—she is a big snob,’ Paul shockingly declared.
‘I was giving her the benefit of the doubt at some point but she certainly is 100 per cent,’ he added.
The feeling was definitely mutual, with Carina admitting, on her way to the reunion, she wasn’t looking forward to catching up with Paul.
‘I feel like there’s an ickiness towards Paul in my gut. I wouldn’t say I am excited to see him,’ she said.
‘I’m very uncomfortable. Honestly, I cant even look Paul in the eyes. We’ve gone from husband and wife to complete strangers.’
The tension between the pair was palpable during the pre-dinner soiree, with Paul admitting to Eliot Donovan he didn’t think Carina was a good match for him.
The tension did not subside when Paul and Carina took their places at the dinner table, either.
‘Carina was struggling to move past that mistake I made,’ he said.
Clearly fed up, Carina responded with: ‘Which one?’
Her riposte may have elicited a roar of laughter from the table but Paul, however, was not impressed.
Watching the drama unfold, the experts were taken aback with Paul’s dramatic turnaround, as they expected a much more contrite and humble groom to be sitting at the table.
Paul, however, continued on regardless, claiming Carina had ‘trust issues’.
Carina responded with: ‘Yeah I can get jealous if your partner puts you in that position 100 per cent.’
With that, Paul and Carina’s relationship was over and beyond repair with Carina having the final word.
‘That’s the nail in the coffin,’ she said. ‘Close the chapter, that’s the end of the story guys.’
