The stunning Byron Bay mansion that served as the couples retreat in Married at First Sight 2024 has been listed for $15million.
Known as ‘Hinterland House’, the vintage homestead is surrounded by dense bushland and has eight bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Set on 7.6 hectares, the beautifully preserved property boasts classic Federation stylings, including wide verandahs, soaring ceilings and stained glass.
According to The Byron Coast Times, Brisbane businessman Mitch Carter snapped up the heritage-listed home in 2016.
He later converted the former farm homestead into a boutique accommodation getaway while taking care to preserve its original character.
The palatial spread, which can host 16 guests, has been used as a location for fashion shoots and weddings.
It was also where MAFS bride Lucinda Light attempted to lead a yoga session on the dating show earlier this year.
‘Being on MAFS was massive exposure for the property, and we have quite a good following on social media,’ Carter told the publication.
He said he was selling up to concentrate on his business interests in Brisbane.
It was previously available for guests willing to fork out an eye-watering $5,000 a night for a minimum 3-night stay.
Located in the Bangalow hinterland, 12kms from Byron Bay, the original homestead was built in 1906 on a 240ha dairy farm.
Constructed over four years from hand-made bricks, the grand main dwelling boasts soaring four metre ceilings, chandeliers, leadlight windows, parquetry flooring and a wraparound verandah.
Each of the four bedrooms of the homestead feature a lavish en suite, while French doors and wood fireplaces give the living areas a fabulous Old World atmosphere.
Another major highlight is the stunning main dining room.
The chef’s kitchen, meanwhile, features stone bench tops and a walk-in pantry.
There’s also two self-contained ‘Queenslander’ cottages adjoining the main dwelling, each of which which feature private entertainment decks.
