Ava is in quite a pickle on Days of our Lives. She is being forced to run drugs for Clyde to keep Tripp safe. She broke up with Harris to keep him safe by claiming she couldn’t forgive him for kissing Stephanie. Oh, and that she’s in love with Stefan DiMera now, so…byeeee. But, Stefan is just a cover. He is also being forced to run drugs to protect Gabi in prison. He’s claiming to be having an affair with Ava as his cover. How long before, in the words of Michael Jackson, a lie becomes the truth?
Stefan DiMera: Spot the Difference
Ava (Tamra Braun) isn’t dumb. She loved Jake. He’s dead. Ava knows that his identical twin, Stefan (Brandon Barash) isn’t Jake. They may look alike, and walk alike, and talk alike, but they aren’t actually alike. Stefan is missing a certain…greasiness from beneath his fingernails. A certain thuggish quality. He can try to play the tough guy, but his fancy education and upbringing keep shining through. Which is what will keep their relationship strictly business.
Blurred Lines
Then again, mechanic Jake got all businessman-y there towards the end. And, businessman Stefan has always had a streak of basic commonality. If viewers sometimes get confused which one is supposed to be which, can we blame Ava if the same thing happens to her? A Jake by any other name would be…Stefan. Maybe she’ll start getting into that.
Two For One
And once Ava starts thinking of Stefan as a Jake substitute, how long until Gabi becomes less and less of an issue? After all, she’s in jail, right? She can’t be a good wife to Stefan. He’ll probably get lonely. Ava knows what to do with men who are missing their wives.
