House of the Dragon season 2 has taken a massive step forward, with Corlys Velaryon actor Steve Toussaint announcing that his filming is complete.
Uploading several behind-the-scenes shots onto Instagram yesterday (September 28), including one of him in his white wig, Toussaint’s caption read: “‘And that’s a wrap on Steve!’ What a blast to work with such great people! Now it’s in the hands of editors, SFX folk, and whoever else.
“Hope you like it when you eventually get to see it! #hotd #hotd2.”

Despite this year’s concurrent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes – the former finally came to an end recently – work on Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has largely continued as normal, with production unfolding across Europe.
That’s due to a number of its key cast members being part of Equity, the UK actors’ union, rather than SAG-AFTRA. Season two’s scripts were also finalised before the writers’ strike was announced, according to George RR Martin.
Meanwhile, Toussaint previously admitted he was “gutted” over Miguel Sapochnik stepping down as the fantasy epic’s co-showrunner and director.
“I was like, ‘Oh no!’ Ryan [Condal] rang me, because I’ve been shooting something in Belgium. And so, I got a call from Ryan one night, just saying,
‘Listen, this is about to break. I want you to know what’s happening and everything’s going to be fine’, and so forth. And it’s Miguel’s decision,” he told the Entertainment Weekly podcast West of Westeros.
“While personally I’m disappointed, because I think he has a great artistic vision, I understand, for the good of his health, he’s got to take a long break and recharge himself and decide what else he wants to do next to that.”
