Chance Chancellor is making a lot of major life decisions just in time for the new year on The Young and the Restless. He is quitting his job in law enforcement to maybe do something vague at Jill’s vague company. His personal life seems to be less vague, though. Chance seems happy with Sharon. The question is, is she the best option for the Genoa City eligible bachelor?
New Year, New Chance Chancellor
Maybe Chance (Conner Floyd) would be better off throwing off all aspects of his past and hooking up with someone new. Someone with whom he doesn’t have a complicated past. Chance and Abby (Melissa Ordway) didn’t work out, and they’d presumably known each other for a long time. Maybe starting fresh is the best policy here. (Look back on Abby and Chance’s downfall here.)
Motiv ated Buyer
Summer (Allison Lanier) really, really wants Chance all of a sudden. We realize it’s just a whim, like all of her other relationships. But, at the moment, she is burning red-hot. Summer will do anything she needs to in order to pry Chance away from Sharon (Sharon Case) – with her mom’s enthusiastic support.
After being cheated on by Abby, and after knowing that he will never be Sharon’s first priority, maybe what Chance needs right now is a woman who will be all about him, all the time. It will make him feel wanted. Which will make all the other life transitions easier to deal with.
Stick Around
Then again, in the end, there is really no reason for Chance to give up the good thing he’s found with Sharon. Sure, she isn’t as intense as Summer. But that’s a good thing. Chance has enough intense women in his life, including mom Nina (Tricia Cast), and Grandma Jill (Jess Walton). A woman like Sharon could be just what the doctor ordered. Why rock the boat?
