Brace yourselves, Grey’s Anatomy fans! Season 21 is set to dial up the drama according to the explosive new trailer.

The esteemed medical drama, with Ellen Pompeo leading as Meredith Grey, is gearing up for its latest instalment expected to land on screens this month. Viewers are in for a shock as it kicks off with Catherine Fox (played by Debbie Allen) apparently taking legal action against Meredith over contentious rights to crucial Alzheimer’s research, reports the Express.

A fiery encounter with Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) sees Catherine delivering a scathing rebuke: “You think you’re God’s gift to this hospital?” But she doesn’t stop there. “You’re just another doctor.” However, Miranda isn’t one to be belittled and claps back – quite literally – with a resounding slap across Catherine’s face.

The aftermath of Miranda’s bold retort is set to unravel throughout the season, keeping viewers glued to their screens week after week. As the surgical squad attempts to balance their tumultuous personal lives, they’ll also tackle a barrage of patients dealing with horrific injuries and challenging medical dilemmas.

One bone-chilling incident involves a bungee jumper who meets a gruesome fate when his cord gives way, sending him crashing head-first into a car windshield.Veteran surgeon Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr) and Winston Ndugu (Anthony Hill) rush to aid the unfortunate thrill-seeker, while Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) confronts matters of the heart.

Levi is seen in an intense exchange with Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), pressing her with the question “Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant”, following her dramatic collapse. However, it was Miranda’s long-awaited showdown with Catherine that dominated conversations after a new teaser landed on YouTube.

One excited viewer remarked: “Bailey still doesn’t take s**t from anyone even 20 years later and I am here for it.” Another added: “That slap was so satisfying to see i love bailey.”

A third chimed in with: “The fact that we had to wait all this time for Catherine to be slapped was criminal,”. In complete awe, a fourth stated: “Not my mouth hanging at Bailey slapping Katherine.”

The drama is set to unfold when the beloved medical series makes its much-anticipated return in just over a fortnight.
