Jules Robinson declared 2024 her year of health on Monday admitting she’s worked herself to the bone ‘for five years’.
The Married At First Sight star, 42, who recently returned to Sydney after launching her shapewear brand in the UK, said she was on ‘the verge of burnout’.
Jules is now adopting a new ‘holistic’ lifestyle. She is taking up up meditation and hired a personal trainer to get her health back on track.
‘Really, when I thought about it, I’ve been running at full speed for five years,’ she told Confidential.
‘As a mum, [to three-year-old son Oliver] you tend to put everything before yourself. Your child, your partner, and your career.’
She added: ‘It’s easy to forget that you’re supposed to put your own oxygen mask on before you can help anyone else. This year, I’m trying to find the balance.’
It comes after the beauty entrepreneur revealed her ‘difficult’ health struggles in a candid interview with 9Entertainment.
In October, she said she wanted to raise awareness about premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a condition she currently suffers from.
PMDD is an intense, occasionally debilitating, form of premenstrual syndrome characterised by extreme mood swings that can significantly disrupt women’s daily life and strain relationships.
Jules disclosed her experience with this condition late last year and has been deeply moved by the remarkable response she has received since sharing her story.
‘As women, we all go through an emotional period that time of the month, but PMDD is completely different,’ she said.
‘It’s been really intense from talking about it after suffering for three years. I’ve always suffered.’
Jules also said the day she met future husband Cameron Merchant, 39, she warned him that every month she would be terrible to live with.
‘Once a month, put me under the stairs and just ignore me for a couple of days,’ she told him.
However, she admitted there was a significant shift in her well-being following the birth of their first child Oliver in 2020.
