Erika Jayne suggested Kyle Richards hasn’t been completely honest about her marriage troubles with Mauricio Umansky on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Ahead of next week’s taping of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion, Erika, 52, told host Andy Cohen, 55, that she expected Kyle, 55, to be “eviscerated” at the taping while also reacting to Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57, gaslighting Dorit Kemsley, 47, sharing her thoughts on Thomas Girardi, 84, being deemed competent to stand trial, and more.
On the January 17 episode of WWHL, after her fellow guest, Dr. Nicole Martin, 38, defended Lisa Hochstein‘s many comments about her divorce on The Real Housewives of Miami, saying the cast is simply sharing their “real lives,” Erika had a question for Andy.
“So where does that leave us in Beverly Hills?” she asked. “Where does that leave us with the Kyle and Mauricio thing? Talking about our real lives.”
“Well,” Andy replied, “I think Kyle, now that they’re separated, Kyle was on this show on premiere night and answered every question I had for her.”
“That’s good. As somebody who got eviscerated, I would like to see everybody get the same treatment. And I love her. She’s a dear friend, but fair is fair,” Erika noted as Andy assured her that he has “a lot of questions” for Kyle.
When Erika was then asked how she would have handled PK suggesting Dorit’s PTSD is exaggerated, Erika admitted to receiving similar treatment from her estranged husband.
“Tom used to do this to me every now and again. Obviously, I didn’t go through something as dramatic as Dorit did but he would kind of be like, ‘What are you upset about? You have everything. Calm down.’ So I feel for her,” Erika shared.
“That’s gaslighting,” Andy explained.
“I don’t know what it is, but it doesn’t feel good,” Erika replied.
Again speaking of Thomas, Erika reacted to his upcoming court appearance.
“Here’s the thing: Competent under the law, I’m not sure what the bar is. I can only speak for what I know and what I love, which is completely different,” she said of her ex’s mental state. “I don’t know [if he’s competent]. I’m not a lawyer.”
According to Erika, she still hasn’t spoken to Thomas since cutting off communication following the death of her dog, Tiago.
“The day I euthanized my dog, that was the last day. I couldn’t take it. I was literally holding my dog, he was dying in my arms, and Tom kept calling and I was like, ‘I can’t do this any longer,’” she recalled.
Reflecting on her recent drama with Denise Richards, 52, Erika denied potential hypocrisy after she was reminded about how upset she got when former castmate Eileen Davidson, 62, mentioned her police officer son, Tommy Zizzo.
“I wouldn’t have brought up Denise’s daughter had she not pushed so hard, that’s really the truth,” Erika shared. “I did not want to do this. I did not want to go there, and I really meant that, but if you want it you can get it.”
Erika said she doesn’t “really” see a double standard between the two circumstances and noted that she has “much better control emotionally” over her son’s profession now than she did amid her spat with Eileen, contributing her newfound peace to “time.”
“He was basically a rookie at that time and now he’s like a sergeant. We’ve been through so much since then,” she revealed.
Erika also looked back on her drama with Denise during the poll segment of WWHL, denying she went “too far” with her response to Denise.
“No. Hell no! I was very… I really tried. The therapy dollars are worth it,” she replied.
She then said Denise had no right to be mad about the threesome comment she made years ago and admitted to being unsure about what she was so upset with her about.
“I absolutely had no idea what this woman was talking about and that’s why I threw out, ‘Well where is Brandi Glanville?’” she explained.
After suggesting Annemarie Wiley, 40, isn’t actually talking too much about Sutton Stracke‘s esophagus, which most would disagree with, Erika revealed how her friendship with Garcelle Beauvais, 57, came about.
“Not this past BravoCon, but the one before, she turned to me backstage and she said, ‘Can we work on our relationship? We were friendly.’ And I said, ‘Yes, absolutely.’ And I think since then, we’ve put our best foot forward,” she shared. “You have to also remember I’m in a different place. I have a chance to catch my breath which is, you get a different part of my personality when I don’t feel so cornered all the time.”
Also on the live broadcast, after saying there’s “not enough” going on in her love life but stating it is “good,” Erika confirmed she still is not in possession of the $750,00 earrings she was forced to turn over amid Thomas’ bankruptcy case.
“We all know I don’t. Duh,” she responded to a viewer’s question.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Erika was asked if she had any advice for Vanderpump Rules‘ Ariana Madix, 38, who is set to star in Broadway’s Chicago as Roxie Hart, a role Erika held in 2020 before it was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I will say this: Congratulations, Ariana. It’s gonna be the best experience of your entire life and I pray to God art doesn’t imitate life like it did for me,” Erika stated.
“[Ariana is] gonna have a great run,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
