Married At First Sight UK star Luke Worley revealed there’s no animosity between him and ‘ex-wife’ Jay Howard.
Luke and Jay were placed together by the E4 dating programme’s experts and got along like a house on fire. As the experiment went on, the couple hit a bump in the road when he commented on his wife not doing anything if he were to ‘get a girl’s number on a night out’.
The comment was relayed to Jay by Jordan during a dinner, which resulted in a shocking brawl in front of Jordan and Erica’s apartment. Luke and Jay were kicked off the show and their relationship seemed to be going fine off-screen until they returned for the reunion.
Jay arrived at the swanky bash looking forlorn as she explained she still had feelings for the sales manager, but they weren’t reciprocated. He admitted he felt ‘inadequate’ and said he tried harder with his wife than in any other relationship.
And now, months after the reunion, Luke took to his Instagram page to take part in a Q&A session with fans. One curious user asked if he still speaks to Jay. “We still talk. We don’t talk every day, maybe every couple of weeks or once a month, whatever. We’ll have a conversation, we’d go to the same events,” he said.
“The funny thing is about the situation, there’s never been any animosity but people on social media seem to think it’s me against her or her against me. We’ve always had each other’s backs. We’ve always said nice things about each other and we’ve never been against each other.”
He continued: “We’re civil, we’re friends. We don’t hang out, we live on different sides of the country. Obviously, if I see her at an event, I’ll speak to her, have a conversation with her and give her a hug like anyone else. So, yeah. We still talk, there’s no animosity there, there’s no drama. There’s some couples from MAFS that won’t even talk to each other. We still get on well, it’s all good.”
Luke recently claimed he and Jay never loved each other. He told BBC Radio Essex: “So when people watch me on MAFS [Married At First Sight], they only got to see the character that the show wanted them to see of me. I want to show people who I actually am.”
He continued: “People seem to think you are like in love after two weeks for one, you’re not. Me and Jay never told each other we loved each other. It was building to that. We were falling for each other, but I don’t actually believe, from my side, I could see me starting to fall in love with Jay, but it wasn’t like, ‘I’m in love with you’. And she never said that either, so we I believe she is the same. We had strong feelings for each other.”
