Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars has finally come to a close. In the end, Joey Grazaidei and Jenna Johnson were crowned the mirrorball champions of the reality TV show.
In the final episode of the season, however, there seemed to be more drama taking place on the dance floor. In particular, fans pointed out the sparks seemed to fly between dance pro turned host Julianne Hough and someone else.
Fans Thought Julianne Hough and Danny Amendola Were Flirting
In the final dance performance, Danny and his partner Witney Carson did a Barbie-themed routine. On the stage, there was a pink bed with a horse-patterned blanket, a reference to the Barbie movie’s decor. After their performance, Julianne came over to interview the pair about their dance, hopping into bed with the duo.
As Julianne perched on the bed in her white dress and black tights and heels, things seemed to heat up between her and Danny. For his part, Danny seemed to ask her a flirty question:
The real question, Julianne, is why are you in my bed?
Quick on her feet as always, Julianne didn’t miss a beat before firing back, “Is that an invitation?”
Fans Are Feeling The Chemistry Between The Two
If sparks were flying in the air during the Dancing With The Stars finale, fans certainly seemed to pick up on it. After the episode aired, viewers took to X/Twitter to express their excitement about seeing the pair flirting with each other. Many were thrilled to see that Julianne and Danny’s interest appeared mutual in the exchange.
“Look at BOTH Danny Amendola and Julianne Hough taking their shot on live television! Bravo! I’m all for it!,” wrote one person. “Julianne Hough and Danny Amendola in bed together was not what I expected in this season finale of #DWTS,” shared another.
Still another person seemed to show the most enthusiasm of all:

“Danny Amendola shooting his shot at Julianne Hough on national TV is what we’re here for,” another person commented, applauding the pro athlete for his efforts. Danny’s dance partner, Witney, has been off the market for years, married to man named Carson McAllister since 2016. While romance rumors have never arisen between Danny and Witney, it seems that there may be an entirely different story when it comes to his connection with Julianne.
So what will become of this potential showmance now that the season has ended? As of now, the relationship status for both individuals remains unclear. For her part, Julianne recently shared that, while she is single, she’s open to finding love again, which many fans took as her hinting that she was interested in finding a serious partner. Her dating history covers a range of famous faces, including Mark Ballas (who was also on Dancing With The Stars) and even a three-year stint with Ryan Seacrest, another successful reality TV host.
Danny, for his part, has had some major ups and downs in his own love life. Most recently, there were rumors between the New England Patriots player and DJ/social media influencer Xandra Pohl. Danny and Xandra had the rumor mill spinning when Xandra appeared next to some of Danny’s family members in the crowd during an episode of Dancing With The Stars.
Despite her appearance on the show, Danny cleared the air that nothing more was going on between them, and even doubled down that the two of them were just good friends. It seems only time will tell if more about the budding connection between Danny and Julianne blossoms into something more.
