Denise Richards has been a force in pop culture for quite some time now. However, her stint on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills opened her up to a new audience. Because of this, fans were excited for her return to the show. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. Now, she’s talking to Melissa Gorga about it.
For context, Denise left the show in 2020, but she confirmed in early 2023 that she would return for season 13.
Denise recently appeared on Podcast One’s On Display with Melissa Gorga, and she discussed how her grand return went sideways. Of course, the moment everyone remembers happened at Kyle’s THC dinner. It ended with Denise and Erika getting into an argument and Denise wearing her jacket upside down.
Denise said, via PEOPLE, “I didn’t want to not go because I didn’t want [the housewives] to say, ‘Oh, she didn’t show up.” She continued, “But whatever… I made an a**hole out of myself.”
However, she doesn’t understand why so many people took issue with her, given that other Housewives have made fools of themselves.
She said, “So why did everyone make such a big deal with me?” She then recalled that people said things like, “Oh, she’s here, and look at her, she’s so f—ing sideways!”
Melissa chimed in and said that it’s because Denise is a “superstar” and that she has a “bubbly personality.”
“When I got home [my husband]’s like, ‘What the f— is wrong with you?’” laughed Denise.
Denise also clarified that she was not upset with Erika, and she even said that Erika was nicer to her without Lisa Rinna present. However, she did want to know what caused Erika to go after her the way she did, which is the main reason for their confrontation.
Erika previously discussed the encounter on the Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat podcast. In her opinion, Denise “came looking for a fight.”
Erika continued, “We were having a THC dinner at Kyle’s house… I was feeling very good, and Denise came there to pick a fight, and I very graciously did not [engage].”
