Days of our Lives spoilers for Friday, May 17, find an undeterred Stefan determined to free Gabi by proving that she didn’t kill Li. EJ may not be interested in reopening the case. But EJ has a boss.

Conflict of Interest Queen

As District Attorney, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) works for Paulina (Jackée Harry). And Paulina only knows one way to do business — personally. She fired Melinda (Tina Huang) for personal reasons, and hired EJ in her place. But now EJ has exposed Paulina using city resources to search for her precious Chanel (Raven Bowens) — and risk giving radiation poisoning to all of Salem.

Paulina hates being called out for crimes she committed. So now she is mad at EJ. Who wants to bet that when Stefan (Brandon Barash) offers her the chance to stick it to his brother, Paulina will leap at the opportunity? The best way to prove that she doesn’t govern via personal agenda is to…support someone else’s personal agenda.

Address Unknown

Stefan thinks he can prove that Clyde’s (James Read) henchman is the one who killed Li (Remington Hoffman). And while he does that, Steve (Stephen Nichols) goes hunting for Clyde himself. The logical place to start is with Ava (Tamara Braun), the one who helped him evade justice last time. Why should the fact that Ava has never told Steve the truth before stop him from hoping this time might be the charm?

Mother’s Day

Holly (Ashley Puzemis) yelled at Nicole (Arianne Zucker, who revealed her last airdate) and called her names when Nicole forbade her daughter, who had just come out of a drug-induced coma, from going to the Junior Prom, where there might be even more drugs. So, of course, Nicole thinks she’s the one who should apologize to Holly. That’ll teach the mouthy teen a lesson!

Father’s Day

Marlena (Deidre Hall, who recently honored a friend) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) just shared a sweet stepmother/stepson moment when he told her how great she was to him growing up. Now it’s John (Drake Hogysten) and Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) turn to stepfather/stepson bond when John has some advice about baby Jude…and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty).
