In the Days of our Lives recap for August 16, 2023, the news of Victor’s passing began to disseminate.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Alex and Chad made tentative peace, Leo and Dimitri managed to pull the wool over Gwen’s eyes yet again, and Gabi attempted to out the explosive secret that wee Rachel is sitting on. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Questions And Answers
At the Kiriakis mansion, an anxious Justin (Wally Kurth) paced the room while attempting to do his best to assure Bonnie (Judi Evans) via phone that she was right to keep her hair appointment. After all, what more could she do? What could any of them do? The only thing he’d been able to do was anxiously pace and await word from the ISA.
And worry. Worry for Victor’s safety and worry over how he would break the news of the plane crash to Maggie (Suzanne Rogers). When Maggie entered the room and overheard the tail end of the conversation, she asked Justin to tell her what he knew. So, he did.
Unfortunately, Justin didn’t know much. The U.S. Coast Guard and Greek officials were working together to search the debris and scan the Mediterranean for any signs of life. So far, no survivors had been found.
Perhaps the most disconcerting was Shane’s revelation that the facility in which Bo was convalescing was nowhere near Greece. Why his plane had been flying over the Mediterranean was anyone’s guess.
Both decided to hold on to the hope that Victor was still out there and would be able to explain once he was back amongst them.Enter Brady (Eric Martsolf), followed closely by his pops. John (Drake Hogestyn) came bearing a most devastating update: Victor’s body had been recovered.
DAYS Recap: Lend Me Your Ear
Chad (Billy Flynn) swung by Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) apartment and apologized for getting himself all worked up and taking EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) advice, and warning him away from Stephanie (Abigail Klein).
He’d been a jackass, possessive, stupid, and wrongheaded. He shouldn’t have interfered in Stephanie’s personal life, and he hoped that Alex would forgive him and forget that he said anything in the first place. If Stephanie wanted to hang out with him (Alex), that was her business.
Stephanie appeared to give Chad a hard time and take a tour of Alex’s abode — but not the bedroom, which was only said to make a point to Chad. Once Chad took his leave, Alex and Stephanie agreed that they’d be perfectly fine working together as Yuri had requested, and Alex readied to update his client.
But before Alex could make the call, he made mention of the drama surrounding Victor’s disappearance, and Stephanie offered to get info from Shane. It then fell to her to relay to Alex that Victor’s body had been found.
DOOL Recap: Off And Running
Over in Iceland, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) demanded to know what, exactly, Leo (Greg Rikaart) was doing there — as in Iceland in general and her and Dimitri’s (Peter Porte) room in particular.
That question necessitated Leo coming up with quite the tale about it being Madonna’s birthday (TRUTH) and how she was scheduled to perform a super-secret concert right there in Reykjavik (BIG FAT LIE).
Gwen wanted to book her and Dimitri’s tickets but discovered that her hubs wasn’t a big Madge fan. And it’s not that he doesn’t like her, it’s just that he doesn’t really care about her. In fact, he can only name, like, three of her songs.
Leo snapped at Dimitri about having “a stick up his ass,” then snapped to Gwen that the concert was full, so there. He’d merely come to gloat about his good fortune. That “goal” achieved, good day to them!
Days of our Lives Recap: Try And Try Again
Back in Salem, Gabi (Camila Banus) overheard Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) discussing a secret…a secret that concerned money. A whole lot of money. Alas, Gabi had been just a tad too late to hear what said secret pertained to, namely, Dimitri and Lady Whistle Blower’s “sleepover.” Gabi attempted to get the lowdown from her niece — least Rachel forget they are family — through a game of 20 Questions, but Kristen’s return put a damper on those attempts.
