In the Days of our Lives recap for July 28, 2023, Sloan gets her paws on some sensitive documents and learns a most inconvenient truth. Inconvenient to her, that is.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Jada (Elia Cantu) decide to make their coupling official, and the DiMera mansion hosts not one but TWO white weddings. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: Baby Makes Drama
Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) begins her morning by waking up from a most disturbing dream wherein Eric (Greg Vaughan) rumbled her subterfuge and walked out on her and their baby. (As if!)
When Eric wondered what was distressing Sloan so, she told him she was merely stressing over their developing one (a half-truth if there ever was one). And while Eric headed for the bathroom to shower and change, Sloan debated her options.
She could sit around and do nothing but hope against hope that EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) was the father of Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) baby. Or, she could find out, once and for all, what she was up against. Unsurprisingly, she chose to do the latter.
To that end, Sloan headed for University Hospital, impersonated Nicole, and threw the DiMera name about like it should mean something. In no time flat, she had her hands on the test results bound for Nicole. And what did they reveal? That EJ was in no way related to the baby inside Nicole. That doesn’t work for Sloan. Not in the slightest.
DAYS Recap: Wedding Favor
While on his way to the DiMera mansion, Rafe swung by Jada’s room and floated the idea of her accompanying him to his sister’s wedding. After all, now that his badge has been taken away, what’s the point of keeping up appearances?
Jada wondered if it might not be more prudent to wait a bit. After all, Abe (James Reynolds) could reclaim his position as mayor and reinstate Rafe to his rank — and in that case, Abe wouldn’t be gung-ho about them dating. So, is Rafe really sure that he wants them to go public?
Sure he’s sure! First off, Abe still has amnesia, so he’s not going to be going back to work anytime soon. Second, Rafe’s been finding his post-firing time oddly liberating. It’s given him time to write his life’s memoir, to have his midlife crisis, and it’s served to show him that his job wasn’t necessarily the most important thing in life.
What’s more, if forced to choose, he’d choose Jada. And don’t call it a rebound thing. Sure, he’s not had the best luck in relationships. And yes, he was giving up on relationships and love due consideration before he met her. What they have feels…different…and right. Oh, so right.
With that declared, Rafe and Jada made love, then dressed (or in Rafe’s case, redressed) for the wedding of the year. On their way out, the two crossed paths with Eric and learned that he and Sloan were expecting. Both bid him good luck. (He’s going to need it.)
DOOL Recap: Tangled Web
On the day of his wedding to Gwen (Emily O’Brien), down low Dimitri’s (Peter Porte) mind was on one thing: Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart). Luckily for the men, Leo had Dimitri down in his contacts as MP (that stands for “Magic Penis”). Otherwise, Gwen would have rumbled their secret via those saucy text messages.
And while Gwen exacerbated Leo’s guilty feelings by waxing lyrical about their friendship, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) made a point of warning her nephew not to do anything (like, say, sexting his intended’s bestie) to screw up her inevitable windfall. (As you may recall, Auntie Kristen is going to get to share in Dimitri’s inevitable inheritance.)
Days of our Lives Recap: A Fine Mess
Having just delighted his bride-to-be with five years’ worth of anniversary presents (paper, cotton, leather, fresh fruit and flowers, and wood), and elicited from EJ a promise to be his best man (awww!), Stefan (Brandon Barash) was chagrined to hear that Dimitri and Gwen also planned to tie the knot that very day…and in the DiMera mansion. Copycat much?
Rather than argue, Stefan suggested a double wedding was in order. Gabi objected, but not too strenuously. Gwen likewise had her reservations. (Understandable considering what happened the last time she was one bride in a double wedding.)
Still, the ceremony — make that ceremonies — pressed on. And on. And on and on. Neither Gabi nor Dimitri appreciated the officiant leaving in the whole “If anyone can show just cause….” part, and they were especially displeased when Leo raised his voice in objection.
