In the Days of our Lives recap for August 4, 2023, Sloan took her new bestie into her confidence and spilled ALL her tea.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, engagement fever gripped several Salemites, Wendy and Tripp attempted to make up for lost time, and Dimitri (Peter Porte) spent his first day as Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) husband in Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) bed. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Days of our Lives Recap: Let It Out

Desperate to get to the bottom of things, Melinda (Tina Huang) headed straight for Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty), nearly plowing into an exiting Eric (Greg Vaughan) in the process.
Sloan wasn’t exactly thrilled to see Melinda, nor to hear that Melinda had come wanting to pick up where they had left off the previous evening. Sloan was saying something about Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and her baby…yes? How exactly was that sentence going to end?

Sloan hemmed and hawed and Melinda finally asked her point blank. Does Sloan’s secret have something to do with the father of Nicole’s baby? After all, Sloan would have a vested interest in the outcome of the DNA test performed on the baby lo those many weeks ago.

Sloan tried to play her cards close to the vest, but she eventually caved and confessed that she wasn’t the only one pregnant with Eric’s baby. Now, what did Melinda intend to do with the information? Nothing, nothing at all. She appreciates Sloan being truthful with her. She doesn’t have many…friends? Is that the word? Melinda’s not quite clear. But she does know that she’s going to keep Sloan’s secret.

DAYS Recap: With This Ring…

Having chanced upon Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) in the town square, Eric asked her to put her “impeccable taste” to use and give him her opinion on the rock he’d just bought Sloan. Chloe was mightily impressed. Luncheon companion Nicole, who’d briefly excused herself to take a phone call from Brandon, was not. In fact, she was seriously put out. Eric planned on popping the question to Sloan, of all people? Ugh!

DOOL Recap: Raw Deal

Off learning that Gwen had gone through with marrying that “total wanker” Dimitri Von Leuschner — UGH! — Xander (Paul Telfer) answered a summons issued by Maggie (Suzanne Rogers). She implored him to make amends with Victor who was ailing in spirit due to their estrangement — not to mention his poor relationships with the likes of Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer).

Despite himself, he agreed to do just that…but only for Maggie’s sake. The rub? Reconciliation will have to wait until Victor’s back from visiting with a still comatose Bo (Peter Reckell). Speaking of trips, Maggie’s headed off on one herself to see Sarah (Linsey Godfrey)…to talk to her about her dating Rex (Kyle Lowder). Hmmmm….maybe Maggie shouldn’t have brought that sore subject up?

Xander swore that he was fine. Hunky dory, in fact. He wishes Sarah and Rex well. Heck, after crossing paths with Gwen, he wished her and Dimitri well. He’ll even cover for her when she heads off to her honeymoon. To be clear, Xander is SO fine with things that he went out, bought Chloe a shiny diamond ring, and proposed marriage, because nothing says “fine” like asking a woman you’ve been dating about two months to be your bride.

Days of our Lives Recap: Couple Corner

When curious Li (Remington Hoffman) wondered why Wendy (Victoria Grace) was back at home and not at her temporary love nest with Tripp (Lucas Adams), he got to sit for quite the tale. Turns out the randy couple was given Leo Stark’s room by mistake, and the despondent drunk had returned home just as they began their romantic night in.

Ever the boy scout, Tripp stayed behind to listen to Leo’s sob story — which went a little something like “I just watched my best friend marry my boyfriend” — and make sure that he didn’t drink himself to death. Tripp also confronted the issue of Leo climbing into bed with him with a whole lot of grace.

Tripp did, however, demand to know if Leo and Dimitri had been cheating behind his cousin’s back (who the heck remembered there was a tenuous family connection between Tripp and Gwen?). Perish the thought, insisted Leo, who managed to lie his way out of the tricky situation. Less easy will be getting himself out of the pickle of being in bed with Dimitri when Gwen comes a calling. Will he be able to hide Dimitri in time? Dun, dun, dun!
