In the Days of our Lives recap for November 8, 2023, Xander and Sarah reached yet another impossible-to-traverse impasse — and after sharing such a nice moment too.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Steve figured out that Konstantin wasn’t all he appeared to be, things looked decidedly up for Theresa, and John and Marlena rang in their sixth (wedding) anniversary. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
The Worst Luck
At the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) embraced Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and checked in. How was she handling her first anniversary without Victor? Okay…but it’s a tough day. This would have marked 13 years since their wedding day.
Rather than dwell on the time that “went by too fast,” Maggie offered to accompany Sarah to court later in the day. Sarah thanked her mother but declined. She didn’t want to add any more stress to the day’s proceedings.
Sarah relayed how, despite Maggie’s hopes, she and Xander (Paul Telfer) just weren’t able to work something out between them. This prompted Maggie to irritatingly warn that Sarah may lose her daughter forever. Sarah disagreed. What’s more, Konstantin (John Kapelos) had agreed with her, and that had just strengthened her resolve to carry on the way she intended.
Later, Sarah and Xander crossed paths in the square and he once again suggested that they decide Victoria’s custody together. Sarah refused…but she did ask for the hearing to be postponed — given the significance of the date and all. Xander hurriedly agreed. Anything for Maggie.
Just as it seemed that a detente of sorts was about to be reached, Eric (Greg Vaughan) stormed over screeching about the subpoena he’d received. Now, he has to testify against Sarah and help Xander establish a pattern of deceit?! Outrageous! Sarah concurred.
Suspicious Mind
Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) swung by to check on Maggie and deliver pastries — Caroline Brady’s “famous scones,” to be exact. The two made Konstantin’s acquaintance and looked on as he presented Maggie with a gift.
Ostensibly it was a lace tablecloth Konstantin claimed was from Victor’s childhood home. The rub? Kayla didn’t recall seeing any lace tablecloths at the villa. Also, the price tag from Saxton’s. While she was ready to give Konstantin the benefit of the doubt, Steve called bull and decided that it was a case for Black Patch.
Everything’s Coming Up Theresa
Meanwhile, Theresa (Emily O’Brien) began her day awakening from a nightmare in which Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) learned of her deception. Scary! Scarier still was the confrontation she had with Xander in which he warned that she’d never achieve her goal of becoming Mrs. Alexander Kiriakis. Even scarier though was a subsequent chat with Alex that began suspiciously like that dream of hers. Luckily, he merely wanted to offer her a job. A big job. Publisher of Bella Magazine!
If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Six It
Across town, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John (Drake Hogestyn) reflected on their anniversary and flirted up a storm. Out in the living room, Eric and Brady (Eric Martsolf) flitted around waiting for the two to appear so they could present them with their present.
Eventually, the couple emerged and took in the sight of the family tree plaque the boys — and Belle (Martha Madison)! — had bought them. Oh, how they loved it. But boy, were they confused. John thought the proper sixth anniversary was candy, not wood, while Marlena was under the impression it was iron. She surprised him with two six-iron golf clubs she purchased for her hubby. Aren’t they just adorable?
