Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Belle proves that what’s good for the goose is not at all good for the gander. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.

Days of our Lives Recap: She’s Alive!

After waking up from their drug-induced slumbers, Ava (Tamara Braun) and Harris (Steve Burton) took in their surroundings and marveled at the sight of a very alive Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk).

A relieved, though nonetheless annoyed, Ava wondered why Susan had been sending her, of all people, signals as to her whereabouts, and Susan pointed out that Ava was the only one who knew that she was alive — albeit deep inside her consciousness.

Enter Edmund to deliver his hostages food and water and clear up some lingering questions while introducing a whole host of others. Turns out that no sooner had he learned of Susan’s death than someone phoned him to report her survival. Soon enough, two men came bearing Susan’s prone form and deposited her into Edmund’s care.
And care for Susan Edmund did…until he learned that she was married to Roger and desperate to return to him. That’s when he broke out the shackles.

After learning Ava’s identity, Edmund readied to blow her and Harris away with his trusty sidearm. Unfortunately for him, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Tripp (Lucas Adams) — who’d trekked over to London and foisted himself upon the commish — came calling and asked to look around.

DAYS Recap: Honesty Is…A Policy

Back in Salem, after some pressing, Talia (Aketra Sevillian) finally caved and admitted to Marlena (Deidre Hall) that she had indeed slept with Shawn (Brandon Beemer). Talia swore that it wouldn’t ever happen again, and Marlena assured her that she’d keep mum — doctor/patient confidentiality and all. Both women agreed that Talia should seek a new therapist, and Marlena warned that secrets have a way of coming out.

DOOL Recap: Turns Out Turn About Is NOT Fair Play

Meanwhile, at the Salem Police Department, Belle (Martha Madison) became privy to Talia and Shawn’s secret courtesy of Jada (Elia Cantu) talking way too loudly. After his partner made her apologies (both for herself and her sister) and ducked down to forensics, Shawn attempted to make amends only to be slapped down figuratively and literally.

The couple rehashed Belle’s history of adultery (which she, of course, had excuses for), Belle decried Shawn’s “whole sad-ass victim routine” and threw his recent post-shooting-his-father misconduct in his face.

When Shawn pointed out that she, of all people, should be able to understand and forgive him, Belle refused to do either and walked out the door. On her way to Marlena’s office — where she’d subsequently cry on Mommy’s shoulder — Belle crossed paths with her husband’s most apologetic paramour and hissed “You slept with my husband Talia…. Go to Hell!”
