Clint Rice’s Married At First Sight’s audition tape has been leaked, revealing a frequent problem he’s been faced with in the dating pool: gold diggers.
The pro-golfer and entrepreneur, 43, admitted in the now-surfaced clip that his money has been a big obstacle in the love department.
He explained ‘as soon as they know I’ve got a Porsche, I’ve got a house, I sold my company for several million,’ then his potential suitors ‘latch on.’
‘It’s challenging,’ Clint admitted.
The reality star went on to detail an experience he had with ‘a nice girl’ whom he had met at the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) reunion, an event she was waitressing at.
‘Would you believe after three dates, she gave me this sob story that she couldn’t pay her rent and asked if I could pay her rent!’ he said.
Clint went on to say that it wasn’t ‘just a week.’ She had asked him to pay for the whole month.
The experience prompted the star to ask himself: ‘How can I navigate through this?’
Later on in the video, Clint revealed that he was looking for a girl who was ‘spontaneous’, ‘chatty’, and likes to ‘have fun.’
However, the former sportsman noted another small speed bump he’d faced when trying to find the one.
‘I’m probably a little bit too much of a perfectionist,’ he admitted, adding that he’d had great dates in the past where he’d gotten along really well with a girl, but then gotten the ‘ick’ once he had noticed ‘her third tooth from the back’s a tiny bit crooked.’
Dubbing himself an ‘idiot,’ the star admitted that he was not proud of his self-described pickiness.
‘It definitely eliminates your options,’ he shared. ‘Especially in Launceston.’
This come after Clint was visually taken aback a few weeks ago when his on-screen wife Lauren Hall showed him her audition tape.
In the clip, Lauren revealed she was looking for a man who was ‘established.’
‘They would need to have a house or a couple of properties. They have to be able to afford to go to Europe,’ she said.
The 37-year-old added: ‘If I was matched with someone who wasn’t successful, I would probably hate them.’
On Wednesday, the MAFS groom opened up in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, reflecting on why he felt he and Lauren may have been edited out of the show.
While Clint and Lauren’s relationship was one of the more stable ones in the series, he believes this led to them getting little airtime.
‘I don’t think Lauren and I had a lot of drama, and it’s interesting watching all the other couples unfold with constant issues,’ he said.
‘We actually got along really well. We lived together for three or four weeks, and any issues that came up, we’d chat about it in private over a few margaritas or a couple of glasses of red.’
Clint claims their decision to avoid drama at dinner parties also meant producers didn’t find them entertaining enough for major screen time.
‘We weren’t going to throw each other under the bus at a dinner party. We just wanted to turn up, enjoy the company, and have great conversation.’
