In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Chloe and Xander make love for the first time…then decide that practice makes perfect.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

In addition, Gwen (Emily O’Brien) accepts one of Dimitri’s (Peter Porte) two proposals, Johnny (Carson Boatman) rather spoils Wendy (Victoria Grace) and Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) evening, Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) confides her secret to her brother, and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) finds herself in dire straits. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

DOOL Recap: Ready To Try Again

In spite of the welcome company, Xander (Paul Telfer) just couldn’t face his evening meal. Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) wondered whether or not his loss of appetite had anything to do with learning that Gwen was mulling over Dimitri’s marriage proposal, and Xander unconvincingly claimed that it didn’t.

That said, he’s not exactly thrilled by the idea of his ex hitching herself to that “Eurotrash phony.” However, Gwen deserves happiness…even if it’s with an undesirable she’s known for all of five seconds.

Chloe then asked Xander if she should be concerned about how protective he still is of Gwen. As she’s used to dating men who are unavailable, conflicted, or a plain hot mess, she’d like to know what she’s dealing with.

Xander swore that she shouldn’t be worried in the slightest. On a scale of 1-10, her cause for concern is 0. Sure, he might have been thrown by the news, at first, but his totally over Gwen. But, in the spirit of total honesty, he did admit that Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) would probably always be “the one that got away.” Should he give her a number on the “Worry Scale” for that?

Chloe didn’t think so. Xander’s always been open and honest when it came to Sarah…just as she’s been open and honest with him about her lingering regret that she and Brady (Eric Martsolf) couldn’t go the distance. That’s why they’ve been taking things slow. Which is still a good thing, yes?

Choe didn’t think so. She’s ready to move on — and since being with Xander sans sex feels so good, she’d like to find out what being with Xander while having sex feels like. To that end, Xander doffed his shirt, pulled Chloe in for a steamy smooch, and debated with her on whose room they should use. Her room it is!

Days of our Lives Recap: No, Thanks

Elsewhere, the room he shares with Gwen to be exact, Leo (Greg Rikaart) railed at Dimitri for proposing to Gwen in general and for doing so in such a shabby way in particular. Where’s the ring? Why didn’t Dimitri get down on bended knee? You know, the proper way.

Dimitri granted that Leo was absolutely right — and with that, he bent down and presented Gwen with a large diamond. Make that a very, very large diamond. Would she do him the great honor of being his wife? The answer is a hard NO, replied Leo. Also, “What the Hell is actually happening here?!”

In an attempt to address Leo’s concerns, Dimitri explained that he’d fallen head over heels in love with “glorious Gwen” and that he wants to marry her because she’s “the most interesting and utterly captivating creature he’s ever met” and nothing would make him happier than knowing that she is his “forever and ever, and ever and always.”

Leo wasn’t biting. He could smell Dimitri’s “Von-motive a kilometer away.” Dimitri then offered to rescind his proposal just to prove himself to Gwen’s bestie. Gwen insisted that wasn’t necessary…but she also insisted that she wasn’t quite ready to accept Dimitri’s proposal of marriage. She did, however, say yes to his subsequent invitation to join him at Stefan (Brandon Barash) and Gabi’s (Camila Banus) engagement party scheduled for later that evening.

DAYS Recap: Making Plans

Having called to check in on his pops in the wake of Abe’s (James Reynolds) presumed death, Tripp prepared him and Wendy some fish tacos so good that they evoked “sitting on a cliff overlooking a beach in Mexico.”

After the dinner, Tripp questioned whether it would be wrong to revisit the goodnight kiss that got interrupted by Johny’s phone call; Wendy didn’t seem to think so. But no sooner had they locked lips than Johnny came calling.

Before Tripp could protest much, he was called away to the hospital, leaving Wendy with nothing better to do than agree to join Johnny for some desert out in the square. Enter Dimitri to extend invitations to the aforementioned engagement party his mother was hosting. Johnny wasn’t too thrilled but quickly changed when Wendy expressed interest.

Days of our Lives Recap: The Company You Keep

At the cop shop, Sloan filled Colin (Jasper Newman) in on Abe’s predicament and her decision to fudge the paternity test run on Nicole’s baby. Both pieces of news thrilled Colin to no end.

Meanwhile, Eric (Greg Vaughan) swung by the DiMera manse to comfort Nicole in what he presumed was her hour of need only to find her unaware of Abe’s probable death. A devastated Nicole phoned Brandon and then learned that she had Sloan to thank for Eric’s visit. Ugh, Sloan. Was Eric really planning to have a baby with her? Yes, yes he was.
Nicole was soon felled by searing stomach cramps and Eric insisted on taking her to the hospital. Nicole was more than grateful to have SOMEBODY by her side in her hour of need.
