As Blue Bloods season 13 is coming to an end, we’re getting some interesting storylines, some of which provoke huge debates among the show’s fans. In the most recent episode at the moment of writing (which is S13 E16 The Naked Truth, to be exact), Frank Reagan had to go through a tough decision that had everything to do with the episode’s name.
In The Naked Truth, Frank finds out that one of his best officers, Officer Carlie Gillson, has a somewhat scandalous side hustle in the form of selling her nude pictures on some OnlyFans-ish online platform.
Granted that she does it anonymously, this situation still puts Frank in a tough position as he had to decide what to do with Carlie.
The other officers are split on the matter: some want her fired and others advocate that there’s nothing wrong with Carlie’s side gig since she’s an excellent officer with a clean record. Ultimately, the final decision still falls on Frank Reagan who allows Carlie to continue working in his department regardless of the scandal.
Ever since The Naked Truth aired a few days ago, the Blue Bloods ‘ fans started clashing online arguing about whether Frank made the right call and what was the appropriate reaction to a situation like this.
Some of the fans fully support Frank’s decision and are proud of him.
“I actually loved the Frank storyline and the way it ended. What you do in your own time is your business. And she was anonymous…. Even if it’s against the rules, it’s moves like what Frank did that will help change the rules in a changing world. Like his kids said at the table,” says Reddit user MikeARadio.
Others, however, think that such an outcome was completely off-character for Francis Reagan who would’ve handled this situation differently.
“Man, the OnlyFans thing was like the only thing that really bothered me <…> I just feel like I know Francis’s character pretty well at this point, and I don’t think he would accept this. He’d tell her it’s a shame, but this is behavior unbecoming of an officer, and he can’t have this in his department,” claims Wonderful-Problem777.
Whether it was or wasn’t an in-character decision for Frank is up for discussion, but it’s already been made. We can only wait to see if either position passes the reality check in the next season of Blue Bloods (the one that cost the cast one-quarter of their salaries).
