It seems there’s some bad blood in the reality TV sphere as Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia takes aim at popular series Married At First Sight.
The TV personality, 55, took to Instagram on Tuesday to promote Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn.
However, the post, which showed the TV star pointing in a warning stance, encouraged fans to turn away from MAFS and, instead, turn their attention to his survival show.
‘What the hell are you thinking?!,’ he wrote on Instagram.
‘Turn off MAFS now! And tune into BRAINS v BRAWN 7:30 tonight on 10 and 10Play!’
The 12th season, which premiered on Monday, was filmed in Samoa last year.
The show sees 24 contestants overcome challenges, take on obstacles and push their limits while divided into two groups: ‘Brains’ and ‘Brawn’.
This season’s cast includes a poker champion, an AFL WAG, and even a witch, who all battle it out for the jaw-dropping $500,000 cash prize.
Last year, LaPaglia made a shock admission by revealing which aspect of his job on the show is the most difficult.
The presenter told Yahoo that the Tribal Council elimination ceremonies, where a contestant is voted off the island, are particularly hard to manage.
‘Tribals can go for hours,’ he began.
‘Keeping track of 24 different stories and extracting the right information without blowing up players’ games is incredibly difficult.
‘But when you land on the right question and suddenly the tribal opens up, it’s so fun to sit back and enjoy the show.’
LaPaglia is a TV regular at the moment, also starring in Top Gear Australia alongside Blair Joscelyne and Beau Ryan.
Last year, Ryan revealed what it’s really like working with LaPaglia while promoting the series.
While he had plenty of praise for the Channel 10 star, Beau said he needed to lighten up because he was always ‘very intense’, reported Herald Sun.
‘He’s very patient, very intense, mature and all that, but boring and needs to cheer up a bit,’ the former rugby star told the publication.’
Jonathan didn’t take the criticism lying down, as he hit back by saying working with Beau and their third co-star Blair Joscelyne was like working with children.
‘It was like being with two 12-year-olds, who have eaten too much sugar. It was a lot,’ he said, joking that it was difficult to get a word in when they started bantering.
However, Blair, 45, chimed in and said: ‘I think the role of children is to try to keep the older people young… we have got to try to keep him zesty.’
