Married At First Sight brides Beth Kelly and Awhina Rutene have been spotted taking in some much-needed girl time.
The reality stars stepped out for a lunch date in Manly during filming, while their husbands Adrian Araouzou and Teejay Halkias were nowhere to be seen.
Also, despite being in the stomping ground of fellow bride Jacqui Burfoot, the controversial participant was also not invited for the catch-up.
Awhina, 31, was a vision in double denim for the girl’s date, stepping out in a matching jacket and mini skirt.
Finishing mid-thigh, Awhina’s skirt flaunted her toned and bronzed pins.
She also wore a form-fitting, off the shoulder white blouse underneath the jacket.
The aged care worker finished her look with a pair of casual white strappy heels and accessorised with a white leather bag.
Leaving her hair down for the occasion, Awhina also wore a subtle gold necklace for the outing.
Beth meanwhile also went with a denim look, stepping out in a pair of high waisted dark blue jeans.
The 28-year-old also wore a black leather jacket over a ruby red blouse that offered more than a hint of cleavage.
The salon manager finished her outfit with a pair of red and white Nike sneakers, choosing to accessorise with a black leather handbag.
The pair looked chuffed to be in each other’s company as they stopped off at a local eatery for a bite to eat.
They looked deep in conversation as they sat at the table, possibly spilling some behind the scenes tea about their husbands.
It looked as though the meal wasn’t enough to satiate their appetite for food, and gossip.
Strolling through the Manly Corso, the pair decided to stop off for some dessert.
Awhina was seen tucking in to a cream topped baked confection, while Beth’s sweet treats were contained in a bag.
She was obviously quite taken with her choice of dessert, motioning to Beth to take a bite from her sugary plate.
The outing comes after Beth ripped into groom Teejay Halkias following a disatrous Homestays in Brisbane visit this week.
While inviting each other over to their family homes, the reality TV star discovered her husband ‘couldn’t see a future’ with her and considered her just a ‘friend’.
Blindsided by the revelation, Beth has now accused Teejay of ‘leading her on’ her to stay on the Nine show.
‘It felt so embarrassing because my parents could see he wasn’t into me,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
‘And then in front of his friends the next day, he sits there and says he doesn’t see this progressing and doesn’t see a future with me. It hurts so much.
‘I just felt really disrespected and so blindsided. It really hurt my feelings.’
When asked directly if she felt Teejay had been gaslighting her into believing they had a connection up until that point, she agreed.
‘Yeah, now I look back, there were quite a few moments where I kind of felt like he maybe wasn’t into me, but I just ignored it,’ she said.
‘He was really good at saying the right things, but sometimes his actions would prove otherwise.
‘I kind of just swept it all under the rug. I should have really woken up and realised what the f*** was going on.
‘Just coming to Homestays, to me was a big deal. If he wasn’t feeling me before it, I don’t know why he came. It didn’t make any sense to me.’
Beth went on to say Teejay ‘played’ her and just ‘wanted to stay as long as he could’.
‘He went from this really nice guy I had so much fun with to being just so cold and it hurt. It was really upsetting,’ she said.
‘I just feel like, yeah, he kind of dragged me through the mud to try and maybe stay in the experiment as long as he could.’
However, Teejay appeared to have a different view of the way things went down between he and Beth on the show.
The couple got into a spat after Teejay told his friends he ‘didn’t see a future’ with Beth, despite having sex with her just days before.
Teejay explained he felt pressured after being questioned by Beth’s family about his feelings and decided to be honest about what he felt for her.
‘I don’t necessarily think anything went wrong per se. There’s nothing that either one of us distinctively did,’ he said.
‘I just don’t think in the moment that my romantic feelings were growing and I was met with a lot of definite questions, like if it ends tomorrow, what would happen?
‘And yeah, it kind of just brought that up and that’s how I felt at the moment, and that’s how I explained it.’
