Ariana Madix had a romantic start to 2025!
As the clock struck midnight to start Jan. 1, the Vanderpump Rules alum kissed boyfriend Daniel Wai, 41, in Portugal. Madix, 39, shared a photo of their New Year’s Eve kiss on Jan. 1 on her Instagram Stories.
She captioned the snap, in which they held wine glasses, with “happy new year!” and tagged their location at the Bairro Alto neighborhood in Lisbon.
The pair got together shortly after Madix learned of her longtime boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s affair with costar Raquel “Raquel” Leviss in March 2023.
Madix and Wai, a fitness influencer, met at a mutual friend’s wedding and later were seen together at Coachella in April 2023.
“It’s happening faster than she thought but he treats her well, they’re having fun, and she’s happy to be moving on to this next chapter with such an incredible guy,” a source told PEOPLE in May 2023 of Madix’s new relationship.
On season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, Madix admitted to costar Lala Kent that Wai could change her mind about having children in the future, which she hadn’t really considered before their relationship.
“In retrospect, Tom being my partner affected my feelings on having kids a lot more than I thought it did,” she said in February 2024. “I feel like with Dan, I’ve kind of had my eyes open to the fact that there are different types of partners out there who would actually be a real 50/50 partner, or if I can only give 10% that day, he’s ready to give 90.”
Their recent trip to Portugal isn’t their first romantic getaway. In June, Wai shared a photo of himself and Madix holding hands while standing on a beach in Fiji together.
“Could do another week in the Fijian sun! Need these peaceful vibes again!” Wai wrote in the post’s caption. “Great way to spend my first mini vacation in over a year!”
Most recently, Madix opened up to PEOPLE just before Christmas about gift-giving in her relationship. Wai is “an incredible gift-giver,” she said, and always knows what to get her.
Meanwhile, she said she keeps a list in her notes of what he wants that he might not buy for himself. Madix shared that she had been collecting items from the list ahead of the holidays.
In November, Bravo announced Madix and the rest of the existing cast will not return to Vanderpump Rules as season 12 will feature a new cast.
