A Grey’S Anatomy Season 19 Story Allows For This Character’S Return

Grey’s Anatomy season 20 will mark yet another milestone for ABC’s record-breaking medical drama, and there’s potential for one character to make their return when it premieres. The Grey’s Anatomy season 19 ending was shocking in a way that leaves a lot of open-endings for characters and storylines to be further explored and resolved in Grey’s Anatomy season 20. In many ways, season 19 was about endings and beginnings, with Meredith and Maggie departing the series and a new group of residents joining the cast. Additionally, Grey’s Anatomy season 19 brought back familiar faces through Addison and Jackson, and hopefully, season 20 will continue that with another character.

Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for a season 20 ahead of the season 19 finale with a new showrunner at the helm after Krista Vernoff’s exit. Grey’s Anatomy season 20 also marks the first season Ellen Pompeo isn’t set to star in since she exited in the season 19 winter premiere. With so many established and beloved characters having left the series throughout its historic run, it’s always special when a character has the opportunity to return. Grey’s Anatomy’s open-door exits allow for this to happen frequently, and this character has taken advantage of it before and could do it again by returning in season 20.

Megan Hunt Could Return In Grey’s Anatomy Season 20

Megan Hunt joined Grey’s Anatomy at the end of season 13, which also marked the return of Teddy, who had been working in Germany since the end of season 8. While Teddy has remained part of Grey’s Anatomy since, Megan left Seattle for Los Angeles in season 14, only returning briefly for a case the next season and then for a longer period of time in season 18 after Teddy and Owen’s wedding. Megan and Teddy have been the reason for each other’s returns, and Teddy could cause Megan to appear again after flatlining in the Grey’s Anatomy season 19 finale.

The finale left Teddy’s fate up in the air, but it’s likely that she will survive the incident, and she’ll need the support of her best friend. Owen will also need his sister in the fallout of his wife’s near-death experience, or, if she were to die, to help him and their children in his grief. Unfortunately, characters leaving Grey’s Anatomy while still keeping close relationships in Seattle means that there are times in which a character misses a major event, even when they should be present. Megan being there for Teddy and Owen in Grey’s Anatomy season 20 would help fix this problem.

Megan Hunt Can Help Save Teddy & Owen’s Relationship

Throughout Grey’s Anatomy season 19, much of Teddy and Owen’s scenes were spent fighting about Owen’s illegal decisions, his suspended medical license, and their legal battle to reinstate it. Though they were in a much better place by the end of the season before Teddy collapsed, if their relationship is really going to survive along with Teddy, they need to reexamine it. Megan has both of their best interests at heart and has helped them through their troubles. Teddy and Owen’s relationship drama has been played out, and Megan can help save them from more of it in Grey’s Anatomy season 20.
