Emails From Afar: Whom Does Young And The Restless’S Chancellor Really Belong To?

On The Young and the Restless, Jill feels she deserves to run Chancellor-Winters because she was the last woman Phillip Chancellor slept with. Plus, you know, she bore him a son and is now holding the company in trust for their grandson.

Devon and Lily feel they have the right to run it because their dad’s name is also in the title and Devon started it with him. Tucker thinks he deserves to run it because his mother, Katherine, was the last Chancellor to own it. But, what if they’re all barking up the wrong tree? Mackenzie Browning has some questions for her cousin, Devon.

Young and the Restless: Dearest Devon

First of all, congratulations on the birth of your son, Dominic. I realize I’m a little late with the good wishes, but, a year ago, I sent the same message to my other cousin, Chance. So, you can see why I’d be a little confused. I’m actually confused about a couple of things.

Maybe you can help me straighten them out. I’ve been reading in the press how you and my uncle Tucker and my almost mother-in-law, Jill, are all trying to figure out who Chancellor-Winters really belongs to.

Family Tree

I get why Jill thinks it’s Chance, and I get why you think it’s you and Lily, and I even kind of see Tucker’s point. Except, well, I’ve been doing some research, and Chancellor Enterprises, wasn’t started by Phillip Chancellor. My grandmother Kay inherited it from her first husband. When she married Phillip, he took the company over and changed its name.

Follow the Clues

So, really, the true heir should be Kay’s child with her first husband. That would be my father, Brock. Brock has made it clear he has no interest in the business, though. Which, now correct me if I’m wrong, suggests to me that the real heir should be…me. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this, Devon! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
