Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Devon and Nate worked to patch things up. Nina begged Sharon to make Chance move into a less dangerous line of work. Elena allowed Summer to visit Chance, and Danny asked Christine to dinner. Now, let’s dig deeper into what happened.

When It’s Over

Nate (Sean Dominic) met with Devon (Bryton James) for a drink at the jazz club. Devon wanted to talk about their relationship, which surprised Nate. After some back and forth, Nate suggested they let their past hurts go, and Devon agreed, realizing it would take a while to move past it all.

Devon told his cousin how sad he felt due to all the resentment he held for him. Ultimately, he and Nate were family and loved each other. At the GCAC bar, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) discussed the situation at Newman and with Victor, and Nick admitted he wasn’t sad that Nate was fired. She worried about Nate, but Nick worried about her. Victoria asserted she was fine.

As they talked, Nick advised Victoria not to fight for Nate’s return. However, Victoria wasn’t willing to let Nate’s firing stand, so Nick revealed Victor had asked him to take Nate’s job. Later, Nick got a text from Victor telling him he was the only one he could trust, but Nick didn’t answer and put his phone down.

Victoria went into the jazz club and interrupted Nate and Devon’s conversation. She asked Nate if they could talk. Nate tried to refuse, but Devon insisted that they could build on the progress they’d made at a later time, so he left.

Victoria tried to explain herself, but Nate wasn’t willing to let her smooth over that she chose Adam over him when he needed her to have his back. Nate realized that the Newmans would always protect themselves. However, Victoria told Nate she hadn’t agreed with his plan, which is why she didn’t back him up.

She admitted she was scared that if they lost control of the narrative, it’d hurt the company. Victoria wondered if Nate at least considered the possibility of them taking back over at Newman Enterprises, but Nate ve hemently insisted that he merely wanted to do what was best for Victor. Ultimately, Nate told Victoria he didn’t want to salvage their relationship. She tried to convince him to make things work, but Nate said he needed a lot of time and space.

Positive Prognosis

In the hospital room, Nina (Tricia Cast) cried to Christine (Lauralee Bell) about Chance being shot. Outside, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) updated Sharon (Sharon Case) about Chance’s condition, and the doctor said he was stable. Sharon couldn’t understand how Chance was in the line of fire as police chief.

Sharon joined Nina and Christine in Chance’s room, and soon, Elena came in and told them to get some rest. Nina resisted, but she eventually left with Christine and Sharon.
Summer arrived at the hospital, and Elena was surprised to see her there. Ultimately, the doctor let her in to keep Chance company.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon got herself, Nina, and Christine drinks. Nina refused to accept Chance having such a dangerous job despite Sharon insisting that it was Chance’s choice. However, Nina pushed Sharon to try to talk Chance into changing his profession, and she brought up Rey. Sharon didn’t feel it was her place to talk her boyfriend out of his profession, though.

Danny (Michael Damian) walked in, and Sharon let him know what happened to Chance. Sharon got a text from Elena, and she and Nina went back to the hospital, leaving Danny and Christine alone at the coffee shop. Christine was broken up about it, and Danny talked about how things could change so quickly, so they should seize the day and Christine agreed. Danny got a text from Daniel, needing to change their dinner plans, so he invited Christine to join him. She agreed but didn’t want him to interpret it as a date.

Eye Opening Moments

At the hospital, Summer sat beside Chance’s bed, crying and pleading with him to wake up. She verbalized all the what-ifs, and told Chance that she couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. Chance opened his eyes and smiled at Summer. She grabbed his hand and smiled back. Sharon walked in and looked stunned to see them like that.
