Tripp Johnson didn’t start out as Salem’s citizen of the year, but now, the character played by Lucas Adams is mostly a good guy on Days of our Lives. His love interest, Wendy Shin, played by Victoria Grace, also tends to play nice. The duo sat down with Soap Hub at Day of DAYS in downtown Los Angeles to share their thoughts on possibly walking on the wild side.

Lucas Adams: Nice Guys Finish First

When Tripp came to town, he was bent on getting revenge for the “death” of his mother, Ava (Tamara Braun). The fact that he’s one of Salem’s good guys now is just fine with his portrayer, but he does recall Tripp’s wilder times. “I was getting drunk and into fights with Roman [Josh Taylor],” Adams says in character. “I would love to see that kind of craziness [again].”

Amazing Grace

Wendy’s got a good heart, but we also know she’s no pushover, given how she’s stood up to both her brother Li (Remington Hoffman) and her father Wei (Clyde Kusatsu). Grace says she’s ready to step up and even run DiMera if need be. “I think it would be amazing,” Grace says, hastening to add, “I don’t want anything to happen to her parents.”

Mommies Dearest

Speaking of parents, we’ve yet to meet Wendy’s mom (“Not yet,” says Grace), but the actress says it’s definitely on her wish list for that to happen. “It’s a mystery,” Grace says as to who her TV mom could be. Speaking of mothers, Tripp’s mama keeps coming back onto the storyline canvas, which suits Adams just fine.

“I love her to death,” Adams raves about on-screen mom Tamara Braun (Ava). “She’s one of my favorite people ever. Whenever we see each other on the schedule, and we know we’re working together, it’s like, ‘Wow! Cool!’” The actor can’t put his finger on exactly why his and Braun’s scenes sparkle, but he’s glad that they do. “We groove well together, and we just have a great time,” he praises. “She’s a master at what she does.”

Victoria Grace: Fan Feedback

After wrapping up their interview with Soap Hub, Grace and Adams returned to the plaza at L.A. Live to meet fans and sign autographs. There, they got feedback from fans on how long they’ve been watching the show and what DAYS means to them. Grace added that she receives praise about the importance of representation. “Whenever there’s an Asian in the crowd…they’ll come up to me and say, ‘It’s amazing to have an Asian on the show,’” Grace says. “It’s a great step forward in terms of representation.” Stay tuned to Soap Hub for more exclusive interviews from Day of DAYS.
