The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, October 16, 2023, brings a stunning admission from Sally for Adam.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Nick notices Victor’s multiple flubs. Nate and Nikki try to convince Victoria she’s overreacting to her dad’s mistakes. Claire meets Nate…again. And, Lily isn’t pleased to learn that Heather is moving back to Genoa City. Now let’s take a deeper look at what happened.

Young and the Restless: Love Isn’t Enough

Adam (Mark Grossman) knocked on Sally’s (Courtney Hope) door, and she reluctantly let him in. He interrogated her about Nick not funding her business, and Sally admitted that she and Nick broke up. Sally didn’t need Adam to be her hero.

Adam brought up his mother, and Sally accused him of trying to distract her. He urged her to vent, and ultimately, Sally let him have it. She begged him to leave her alone. Sally tearfully wondered where she’d be if she’d listened to Adam when he first pushed her away. What they had was great…until it wasn’t.

Sally told Adam he wasn’t her friend because of all the things he’d done. She cried that he’d ruined her happiness. “Why can’t you just let me go, Adam,” she yelled.
After his questions, Sally admitted that she couldn’t let Adam go, either, and he tried to talk, but she said it was too wrong. She asked him to leave, so he did, and she sat down and cried as he hesitated outside her door.

Young and the Restless Recap: Concerns

Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) took turns punching the bag, and the older man noticed his son seemed mad. Nick asked why Victor had confused him with Adam, and Victor insisted Adam had misheard him.

Later, they had drinks at the GCAC, and they caught up a bit. Nick wanted his father to promise not to overdo stuff, and Victor said he’d already promised Nikki. Victor pushed Nick to return to Newman Enterprises, but Nick wasn’t really interested. Victor told him to look how happy his sister was at Newman Media, and Nick reminded his father that Nikki was at Newman Media.

As they talked, Nick told Victor that Adam had ruined his relationship, and Victor told his son that he was too good for Sally, anyway. Nick insisted that Sally was a good person and that Adam didn’t deserve Sally, and he declared he’d never forgive Adam.

Victor urged Nick to stop worrying about Sally since she and Adam were expecting a baby. Nick gently told his dad that Sally and Adam lost their baby months ago. Victor played it off as no big deal and left. Nick flashed back to Victoria telling him her concerns about their dad. Victoria and Nate walked in, and he let his sister know she might be right about Victor.

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) walked into her mom’s office, and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) introduced Claire (Hayley Erin). Claire got embarrassed by fangirling Victoria. Claire left, and Nikki wanted to know what was going on with her daughter. Victoria told her mom she’d had some rough conversations with Nick, and she let her mom know Adam told her Victor called her youngest brother Nick. Nikki played it off as something usual.

Claire literally ran into Nate (Sean Dominic) in the hallway. She reintroduced herself to him, and Claire was full of praise about working at Newman Media. Nate walked into Nikki’s office, and Victoria wanted him to tell her mom about what Victor did, but Nate also felt it wasn’t a big deal. Later, Victoria wondered if she was overreacting, and Nate said she might be.

Y&R Recap: Family

At Society, Heather (Vail Bloom) and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) talked about the logistics of her and Lucy moving back to Genoa City. She felt her dad would like to live in her apartment in Portugal. Daniel also mentioned he was apartment shopping in town, and Heather asked him to keep an eye out for a place for her.

Lily (Christel Khalil) walked in and realized Heather was planning to move back. Daniel said he didn’t feel he should tell anybody until the plans were firm. Heather told Lily she’d realized how much she missed living in the area. Daniel mentioned Chancellor-Winters needed in-house counsel, and Lily wondered why Heather would want to leave the courtroom. However, Heather was into the idea, so Lily reluctantly offered to look into it.

As Heather left, she pointed out that she, Daniel, and Lucy could be a family again. Lily wondered if Daniel was really okay with the situation, and he said he was thrilled. She wasn’t so happy that Daniel hadn’t told her, but he said he didn’t want to ruin their romantic evening by talking about his ex.

Lily expressed concern about Daniel’s reaction to being so close to Heather again, but he reassured her that he wouldn’t spiral like had before. Daniel credited Lily with helping him become a better version of himself. Later, he updated Lily on Phyllis’s first day at Omegasphere, and it went okay. Daniel invited Lily to have dinner with him, Summer, and Phyllis, but Lily declined. Lily noted Phyllis would love Heather moving back, but Daniel said it didn’t matter what his mom thought because Heather was his past. Of course, Lily was his past, too.

Later, they went to Lily’s, and she had a gift basket from Aunt Mamie. Lily pointed out how weird the whole situation was, and she said she had her own stuff to worry about with his ex moving back to town. Daniel told her she had no worries in that department.
