Bridgerton Has All Chances Of Repeating Grey’S Anatomy’S Biggest Mistake

Beyonce’s ball covers are more than enough to keep us entertained. No matter how many great and meaningful episodes Grey’s Anatomy has produced in its 19-year run, viewers will never let go of one mistake. The mistake that cost the cast and crew behind the cameras a lot of unpleasant reviews.

We’re talking about the musical episode, of course. The episode, titled “Song Beneath the Song,” which aired in Season 7, quickly became the top-rated cringeworthy moment on television.

It was too pretentious, too out of touch, and too uncomfortable to watch to even follow the plot. After such a failure, the only hope for Bridgerton fans was that Shonda Rhimes would not make the same mistake again. While Bridgerton is known for its music, it’s mostly the covers of the hits, styled as period instrumentals. And fans would prefer to keep it that way.

The cast members, however, don’t agree. Luke Newton in particular expressed his desire to try the concept of a musical episode out in an interview with WhatsOnStage:

“We have floated around the idea of how fun it would be, and what moments it would refer to. And also, just in the cast, everyone is so musical. Like, I rocked up having to come from the musical theater background not knowing that anyone else would’ve also sung previously,” he said.

In addition to praising his co-stars’ singing abilities, which no one would dare question, the actor mentioned that he never got a chance to see Grey’s Anatomy’s infamous performance himself. If that doesn’t explain the eagerness to turn a perfectly good romance into a musical, we don’t know what would.

No matter how strong our love for musicals is, sometimes it’s just better to not take unnecessary risks.Whether Shonda Rhimes will take up the challenge and return to the musical genre or play it safe with Bridgerton remains to be seen. Keep an eye out for the release date of Bridgerton season 3 to find out for yourself!
