Legendary film and television actor Dick Van Dyke guest stars on Days of our Lives this week, making his daytime debut. According to DAYS spoilers, he’s playing a nameless mystery man with no recollection of his past.

Here’s your Days of our Lives spoilers video preview for the week of August 28 – September 1, 2023. It’s going to be an intriguing ride as the secret of who Van Dyke’s character is and how he works into the storyline and the lives of the soap’s other citizens is slowly unraveled.

DOOL Spoilers: A Man of Mystery

Viewers will first see Van Dyke sitting in a wheelchair in the middle of the hospital. The Chief of Staff, Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), is the first person who approaches him.
“Hello, sir, can you tell me your name,” she asks. “I was hoping you’d tell me,” the mystery man delivers with a chuckle, clearly confused about who he is, yet in good spirits.

Kayla wheels Van Dyke’s character into a hospital room and gets him settled into a bed, but apparently, he’s not too keen on staying put.

“I have got to get out of here as soon as I possibly can,” he tells Kayla, before delivering the reason why. “I’m on a very important mission.”

Days of our Lives: Putting It All Together

But who is this guy, and what exactly is that mission? Well, if anyone in Salem can get to the bottom of things and help him figure things out, it’s the town’s ace psychiatrist, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

Marlena arrives to see the mystery man and explains that she’s there to help him. “What I’m going to do is try to put the pieces of your life together,” Marlena informs him. Van Dyke’s character is both thankful and intrigued. “Are you kidding? I need all the help I can get,” he responds.
