Patrick Dempsey just made a public declaration to his wife Jillian on Instagram, and the note he left will have folks completely enamored.
In a recent post uploaded on the Grey’s Anatomy alum’s account, he shared that he and Jillian were celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary. Adding a selfie of the couple taking a stroll on a scenic path, fans could see Patrick and Jillian grinning while spending alone time together. As the occasion was clearly important to him, Patrick made sure to call out how happy he’s been throughout their relationship.
“24 years!!” he wrote in the heartfelt tribute to Jillian. “What an amazing path we have been on! Love you! Happy anniversary.”
Of course, the love was reciprocated. Adding her own image of the Disenchanted star from what appears to be the same walk, Jillian used the opportunity to add a witty twist on the joyful moment.
“Happy 24th anniversary Paddy, our hike was incredible 😂 🐝,” she wrote on Instagram.
Given how Patrick doesn’t often share private moments with his family on social media, fans couldn’t help but send congratulations online (though, they had to do so on Jillian’s post, as Patrick blocked comments on his Instagram tribute).
“Happy anniversary! I love seeing you both so happy and in love. Wishing many more years of love and happiness ♥️,” one person wrote on Jillian’s Instagram. “His face says it all 😂😂😂 Happy Anniversary!!” another chimed in. “Wow 24 years, congratulations to you both! Happy you both are so happy! 😊,” a different follower added.
As some may know, Patrick and Jillian first met in 1994 when Patrick became a client at Jillian’s hair salon, per People. They eventually got married in 1999 and had three children together: daughter Tallula and twin sons Darby and Sullivan.
Although the married duo reportedly nearly split in 2015, Patrick and Jillian eventually got back together and worked on their relationship. “Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of,” Patrick told People in 2016. “I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started.”
