The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, July 21, 2023, brings some wise advice from Chelsea as Summer confides in her newest employee.

Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Kyle listens to Billy’s advice. Adam agrees to go all in with Nick and Sharon, and they let Victor know. Victor wonders what will happen to Audra Charles when the trio presents their plans. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.

Young and the Restless: New Beginnings

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) worried if she’d made the right choice going to Marchetti. Billy (Jason Thompson) served as a cheerleader, and he gave her a special bracelet with a bee charm. Eventually, Chelsea explained her ideas for sprucing things up at the fashion brand, and Billy declared, “You’re going to crush it.”

Billy left, and Summer showed up. She was glad to chat with Chelsea before going into the office. They talked about what a new beginning they were embarking on at the fashion brand. Chelsea offered to talk to Summer if she needed to vent about her situation with Kyle.

Summer opened up to Chelsea, and she admitted she didn’t know if she’d do something different regarding the situation with Phyllis if she had a do-over. She also told Chelsea all about Kyle’s post-breakup shenanigans. Chelsea was supportive and empathetic.

However, Chelsea also gave Summer some hard truths about recognizing that things are over with Kyle. She suggested her new boss take Kyle at his word. “Focus on what you can control. Live in the present — not the past,” Chelsea advised.

Young and the Restless Recap: Liberation

Earlier at the GCAC, Summer (Allison Lanier) confronted Audra (Zuleyka Silver). Of course, Audra wasn’t really willing to back down, so she reminded Summer that Kyle (Michael Mealor) made his own choices, and his latest choice wasn’t Summer. Ouch!

Kyle walked in, and Summer insulted Audra’s perfume and flounced out. Audra asked Kyle if his separation was for good, and he said it was. Later, Billy joined Kyle at the bar, and Billy wasted no time addressing the elephant in the room — Kyle joining Newman Media after Jack left Summer at Marchetti. Billy wished Kyle luck, especially with Audra.

Kyle said that he felt liberated after separating from Summer, which Billy didn’t quite understand. Kyle remained firm in that their marriage was over, and Billy advised his nephew not to live in the past and forgive Summer. Billy left, and Audra joined Kyle. He suggested they take their conversation private, and Audra agreed.

Y&R Recap: A New Deal

Victor (Eric Braeden) texted Adam (Mark Grossman), wanting his answer, as Adam met with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) at the jazz club. The three talked about their upcoming business plans.

The brothers had only a tentative truce, so they shared some snark back and forth. Ultimately, though, Sharon, Adam, and Nick managed to see the potential for the three of them to create something incredible.

The trio headed over to the ranch to let Victor know what they had planned. Victor complimented Sharon on her idea to merge the companies, and he told Adam he expected him to stop trying to destroy Newman Media. Adam demanded that Victor give them a hands-off period, and Victor agreed to three months.

Adam also suggested that they combine the company with Newman Media, but Victor wasn’t convinced. Victor wondered what would happen to Audra, and Adam didn’t think she was a big concern. He pointed out that she wasn’t trustworthy, and neither Sharon nor Nick had much to say about her. Adam said, “Audra Charles is the least of our concerns. The woman is utterly expendable.”
