Donnie Wahlberg is feeling particularly emotional right now. As a true sports fan (and a fan of all things Boston related, really), the New Kids on the Block singer was devastated when he learned basketball player Marcus Smart was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies. Donnie, who was born in Boston, posted a very sweet tribute to Marcus on Instagram. It was a photo featuring the Blue Bloods star, Marcus and Donnie’s youngest son, Elijah.
“Love this guy. Appreciate this guy. Respect this guy. Gonna miss this guy. Thank you Marcus Smart, aka @youngamechanger! As a fan, I will never forget your heart and your passion. As a dad, I will never forget your kindness and your class. So thankful to have been able to witness the Marcus Smart Era in Boston! See you in Memphis (we are definitely road tripping to see you) and see you for the greatest tribute video night ever, at the @tdgarden (when you return to Boston). Why am I tearing up right now?! Damn,” Donnie wrote.

Fans had a lot to comment on, with many saying they too were devastated about the trade. “He will be so missed in Boston. Memphis doesn’t know how lucky they are to have him,” one person wrote.
Others couldn’t believe how much Donnie’s son, who is 21, looks like his father. “Is that your son? He looks just like you,” someone else said. “Elijah just walking around as an actual carbon copy of dad,” said another. “Can we talk about Donnie’s son having same eyes so handsome,” one commenter wrote. Donnie shares Elijah and an older son, Xavier, with ex-wife Kim Fey. He’s also the step-father to his wife Jenny McCarthy’s son, Evan.
