Married At First Sight’S Adrian Araouzou Goes Head-To-Head With Awhina Rutene’S Tough-Talking Sister Cleo Again During Fiery Lunch As She Brands Their Romance ‘Fake’

Married At First Sight’s Adrian Araouzou has had yet another sensational clash with Awhina Rutene’s sister Cleo after she said their relationship is ‘fake’ and isn’t going to last.

The groom, 30, sat down with wife Awhina’s, 30, mum and twin sister for lunch as part of family week during Monday night’s episode when tension began to bubble to the surface.

As Awhina discussed her and her husband’s shared stubbornness and their history of unresolved fights, Cleo got straight to the point, questioning the pair’s relationship and revealing how she really feels.

‘I don’t know much about your guys’ relationship and I wish that you guys were here so I could see more,’ she said.

‘But so far I’m just filled with negative emotions,’ she went on.

Cleo then dropped the big whammy: ‘I just feel like this is a fake relationship.’

‘Why?’ Adrian asked bluntly, as the music intensified in the scene.

She responded: ‘It doesn’t feel real to me.’

‘It doesn’t feel like this is something that’s going to turn into something after this ends.’

‘Again, it’s really hard for me because I’ve only heard negatives.’

As Adrian began to retaliate, saying it wasn’t his fault that she hadn’t heard about the positive things he had done, Cleo cut to the chase.

‘Adrian are you willing to move to Perth?’ she asked the groom.

‘Is she willing to move to Sydney?’ he retorted.

She responded: ‘My nephew’s life is here.’

‘But my life is in Sydney,’ he told her.

‘Are you willing to do long-distance for the rest of your lives?’ she asked both Adrian and Awhina.

‘I don’t know how it’s going to work,’ he told her, then looking at the girls’ mum, said: ‘but you know what? God works in mysterious ways. So for whatever reason, if we’re supposed to be, we’ll always be.’

Cleo proceeded to voice her opinion of Adrian to the camera, revealing that she didn’t think he was showing up for her sister.

‘I definitely think Adrian has a way with words,’ she said. ‘I think he’s charmed my mum but I can tell he’s still not showing up for her enough.’

She went on: ‘I can see that they are happier but I don’t think my sister has been telling him enough about what he’s done wrong so I’m gonna help her have her voice today.’

Cleo then asked if her mum and Awhina would go and get the cheesecake ready so that she could have a moment alone with Adrian to talk in private.

After exchanging pleasantries, Adrian brought up the last time they had seen each other during family week.

During an earlier lunch between Awhina, Cleo and Adrian, along with his sisters and best friend, all hell broke loose as a fiery argument amongst the group saw Adrian and his family storm out and the MAFS bride break down in tears in her sister’s arms.

‘Obviously the last time was ugly, let’s just be real,’ Adrian told Cleo.

‘Personally, I didn’t agree with you yelling at me and calling my friends names.’

Cleo interjected: ‘Personally, I don’t agree with the comments they made about myself and how aggressive they were coming at my sister.

She added: ‘That could only stem from what they’ve obviously heard and I could see that my sister had been crying.’

When Adrian denied that Awhina had been crying the day of the fallout, Cleo called him out, saying: ‘She told me she had been crying’.

The pair proceeded to lock horns and bicker over the incident, as Cleo shared her thoughts on Adrian’s treatment of her sister.

‘I do feel like you’ve dismissed her feelings on multiple occasions.’

After disagreeing with Awhina’s fiery twin, he said: ‘You guys see it the way you see it and I see it the way I do.’

In his piece to camera, Adrian went on to reveal that he had hoped Cleo would apologise for her actions.

‘It doesn’t look like I’m getting an apology from Cleo but at least she wasn’t yelling.’

He added: ‘I just wanted to tell her the truth, like hey, I don’t accept your actions and I still don’t but whatever.’

Cleo then doubled down on the stubborn groom.

‘I’m protective of my twin sister and I will come that way every single time when it comes to my family,’ she told him.

He objected: ‘For me, the way I see it, my sisters were just asking questions.’

The awkward stand off ended with Awhina’s sister savagely telling Adrian what she really thinks regarding the fate of their relationship.

‘Me and Fee (Awhina) look at life as a book we both read and I’m looking at you as a chapter in her life,’ she said, before adding: ‘I just don’t see you as the ending.’
