After an explosive end to the couples retreat, the stage was set for a combustible dinner on Married At First Sight on Wednesday.
The final night of the Byron Bay getaway descended into chaos on Tuesday as cast members almost came to blows during an explosive fireside argument.
Simmering tensions between Lauren Hall and Jamie Marinos boiled over after Lauren branded Jamie a troll and other brides as ‘drunk bogans.’
Speaking to producers prior to the dinner party, Jamie revealed that she was ‘disappointed’ with Lauren as well as fellow brides Carina Mirabile and Rhi Disljenkovic, who failed to ‘stick up’ for Jamie during the showdown.
‘I’m still really upset, like, really hurt’ Jamie said.
‘The people in this experiment I considered real friends they majorly let me down and it is so gut wrenching.’
Admitting that she wasn’t concerned with Lauren and Clint, Jamie said that she was going into the dinner party expecting an apology from Carina and Rhi.
I feel really disappointed. The thing is i don’t really care about Lauren and Clint. The reason I felt let down is because my friends didn’t step in’ she explained.
‘I’m very upset with Rhi and Carina. They owe me an apology.’
It was a good thing Jamie wasn’t concerned with Lauren and Clint as the controversial couple decided to skip the dinner party drama in favour of their own private get together.
As the couples arrived for pre-dinner drinks, the couple’s retreat drama was on everyone’s lips.
As Jamie and Dave arrived, despite everyone playing nice, the tension in the air was palpable.
It didn’t abate when the group sat down to dinner, either with Jamie jumping into rehashing the couple’s retreat drama immediately.
‘Apparently I was interrogating her [Lauren],’ Jamie said. I’m getting sworn at by men, reprimanded, told I’m acting like an animal.
‘I was owning the argument because she slated the whole house.’
Carina then refuted Jamie’s version of events which triggered the ‘firecracker’ bride.
‘Did I miss the part where you came to my defiance? Was i on smoke break? I must’ve clocked off for the day. because I missed it,’ Jamie spat.
Carina argued that Jamie, Awhina and Beth had ‘cornered’ Lauren during the confrontation, dubbing them Mean Girls.
‘She was being ambushed. I couldn’t agree with the behaviour – it was like Mean Girls,’ Carina said.
Her statement well and truly set Jamie off as she replied: ‘Who are you calling a mean girl? Don’t you call me a mean girl because I wont f***ing stand for it.’
Carina’s comments did not sit well with Awhina either who jumped in telling Carina that her feelings were ‘bulls***.’
Things continued to go down hill as the shouting around the table reached fever pitch.
‘You have a voice and now I have a voice,’ Carina shouted, to which Jamie replied: ‘I don’t give a f*** if you have a voice.’
The back and forth continued with Carina saying: ‘I’ll just sit back and watch The Jamie Show.’
‘Tune in babe, because it’s a f***ing good show,’ Jamie shot back.
Jamie also had some choice words for Veronica who tried to throw her two cents in before Jamie told her to shut her mouth.
‘Only your feelings are valid. the rest of us can go fuck ourselves.’
Rhi meanwhile, who had remained quiet, then spoke up to offer Jamie an apology while adding that she had never actually stuck up for Lauren.
‘I’m sorry in that moment I didn’t stand up for you,’ Rhi told Jamie. ‘I never validated Lauren’s behaviour.’
Jamie appeared to accept Rhi’s apology but by the time dinner was over, there was no love lost between her and Carina.
‘You chose your friends and I don’t chose Carina,’ Jamie said.
The fracas took its toll on Carina who made a tearful exit from the dinner party.
Asked by a producer is she was okay, an inconsolable Carina said: ‘I feel like I’m not smart enough’
‘I feel like I’m the dumb girl. I’m not good with this stuff. I just want to see the best in everyone and I just feel like I’m stupid.’
