Married At First Sight stars Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice have been the topic of couple swap rumours for weeks—now it appears their romance has been confirmed.
The couple were spotted looking loved up together at the Launceston Cup on Wednesday in Clint’s home state of Tasmania, where Jacqui has reportedly relocated.
Arriving arm-in-arm, the pair attracted attention from other event-goers as they flaunted their relationship after being matched with different partners on MAFS, reported Pulse Tasmania.
Jacqui, 29, put on a racy display in a very low-cut black floral dress which she paired with a Fendi bucket hat.
Hiding her eyes behind a pair of round sunglasses, she stuck close to Clint, 43, who wore a simple white shirt and dark blue trousers for their first public appearance.
Jacqui and Clint were initially paired with Ryan Donnelly and Lauren Hall respectively, but have since stirred up backlash after striking up a romance together.
Though, according to insiders, the couple didn’t get close until after their TV marriages collapsed.
Daily Mail Australia first revealed Jacqui and Clint had moved on together earlier this month.
Since then, Jacqui has reportedly resigned from her job in Sydney and relocated to Tasmania to be with Clint.
MAFS viewers have since taken to Instagram to share their views on the shock couple swap.
‘Well he has issues too then if he thinks she’s ok,’ one person wrote.
‘Neither are the sharpest tool in the shed,’ said another.
‘How desperate can he be. Found himself a cuckoo,’ added a third.
One user commented, ‘What the f*** does Clint see in her,’ alongside several laughing-crying emojis, as someone else said: ‘Is he mad?’
It comes after resurfaced Instagram posts hinted at Jacqui and Clint’s romance earlier this week.
Jacqui shared a post to Instagram back on December 16, after filming but prior to Channel Nine commandeering her account.
The images, innocuous enough at first glance, show a beaming Jacqui posing in a colourful dress.
‘Hi I’m Jacqui. Next chapter’s for the plot,’ she cryptically posted.
Jacqui could be seen posing in a bar room in Clint’s lavish Tasmanian estate, which the businessman had shared on his social media account previously.
Back in September 2024, he shared a fly-through video of his swanky digs, with the bar room in Jacqui’s images clearly visible.
Another photo, shared to his dog’s Instagram account FurSeasonClub, showed a picture of Clint’s loungeroom.
A woman, who appeared to be Jacqui, could be seen in the reflection of the television snapping a selfie.
Daily Mail Australia revealed earlier this month Jacqui wasted no time ditching her TV husband Ryan, and has already relocated to Tasmania to start a new life with Clint, a former pro golfer-turned-successful businessman.
The scandal is said to have left Ryan blindsided, ruined Clint and Lauren’s wedding storyline, and thrown the entire season into disarray.
The first sign of Jacqui’s new romance emerged when she posted a cryptic Instagram update on December 2, teasing a ‘new chapter’.
Just days later, she was spotted getting cosy with Clint at a wildlife park in Tasmania.
An insider confirmed: ‘Jacqui and Clint have a natural chemistry. She’s empathetic, a great communicator, and driven. Clint is exactly the same.’
‘They share so many common interests—tennis, wineries, documentaries, even their love for dumplings. They’ve barely spent a night apart since filming wrapped.’
The couple are even planning to launch a business together, using Clint’s experience from selling a successful golf distribution company in 2023.
While Jacqui and Clint appear to be enjoying their new romance, Ryan was reportedly left completely blindsided at the reunion.
‘Ryan had no idea. He heard rumours, but seeing it unfold like this left him feeling betrayed,’ an insider told Daily Mail Australia
‘He considered Clint a mate—now he feels like they both lied to his face.’
Meanwhile, Lauren, is said to be ‘happy’ for Clint and Jacqui’s new romance.
‘Producers are furious. This completely ruins Clint and Lauren’s wedding episode,’ a source said.
‘Viewers haven’t even seen them get married yet, and now they already know Clint ends up with Jacqui.’
Despite the fallout, Clint has no regrets.
‘Clint is an introverted extrovert—calm, confident, and fiercely loyal. He doesn’t tolerate nonsense, but when he’s in a relationship, he’s all in,’ a close friend revealed.
‘He signed up to MAFS to find a wife, and with Jacqui, he may have finally found exactly that.’
