Married At First Sight fans are in for a major shock as it appears one of the season’s most talked about grooms, Billy Belcher, is set to walk away from the experiment.
Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that Billy was spotted checking out of One Global Resorts after Sunday night’s explosive Commitment Ceremony following a bombshell cheating scandal involving his bride Sierah Swepstone.
Billy, 31, looked downcast in a taupe T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
The popular groom kept a low profile as he made his way to the airport to return to his life outside the dating experiment.
The exit comes after revelations that Sierah had been engaging in a secret romance with fellow participant Adrian Araouzou, which left Billy heartbroken.
Tensions escalated when Sierah and Adrian were caught getting close during the controversial ‘footsie saga,’ an incident that sent shockwaves through the experiment.
The moment didn’t go unnoticed, with other cast members quickly picking up on their chemistry.
What started as a seemingly harmless exchange soon spiralled into full-blown scandal when it was revealed that Sierah and Adrian had been secretly messaging each other outside of the experiment’s guidelines.
The pair had been meeting up privately, away from cameras, with some cast members speculating that their connection had turned physical long before the footsie incident.
Billy was reportedly ‘blindsided’ by the revelation, learning about the betrayal in front of the entire group.
Sources say he was left ‘humiliated’ as Adrian and Sierah attempted to downplay their actions, insisting it was all just ‘harmless fun’.
However, their body language and refusal to fully deny any wrongdoing only fuelled speculation that there was more to their relationship than they were admitting.
The emotional exchange saw Billy express his heartbreak over her betrayal, while Sierah struggled to justify her actions.
Ultimately, it became clear that trust had been completely shattered between them.
‘Billy was all in on the experiment, but after Sierah’s betrayal, he just couldn’t continue,’ an insider told Daily Mail Australia.
‘He was embarrassed and felt completely disrespected.’
Billy has been a big player in the group, forming strong friendships with many of the other contestants.
His departure will leave a noticeable void.
