Married At First Sight UK’s Kristina Goodsell was reportedly left devastated after her husband, Kieran Chapman, moved on with someone new so soon after their romance ended.
Kristina and Kieran seemed to be the perfect match when they were placed together by the experts this series. However, as the weeks went by, their relationship became strained after Kieran claimed they couldn’t be intimate because of a cold sore on his lip – which didn’t stop him from jokingly smooching another bride.
He also admitted he was pulling away from Kristina as he claimed she reminded him of all of his ex-girlfriends. The duo decided to leave the experiment after weeks of arguing and tears. However, it has been reported that the reunion was difficult to film as Kristina and the cast found out that he moved on with someone new not long after their marriage fell apart.
Kieran also supposedly broke down in tears when he realised how much he hurt Kristina. A source recently claimed: “The cast were stunned after discovering Kieran had moved on so soon after filming for him and Kristina finished.”
The insider also claimed to MailOnline: “He was very emotional seeing Kristina handle the fact he was seeing a new woman given he still cares about her feelings.” The source also claimed the reunion episode was ‘incredibly tough’ for the ex-couple to film. The Mirror have reached out to Channel 4 for comment.
Kieran previously admitted he found it difficult to handle Kristina’s premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which causes those suffering from it to feel both emotional and physical symptoms including depression, panic attacks and anxiety. Following their split, Kieran took to social media to reveal he didn’t regret their split.
He said on Tuesday night: “Tonight me and @kristinagoodsell left the experiment. Is there a better wife on this series that I could have been matched with? No. Do I regret letting Kristina go? No. This sounds brutal, I know.. but I wasn’t the man for Kristina, and she deserves someone to put her on a pedestal. Someone who can give their whole self to her, someone who can support her through the highs and lows. But I’m afraid that just isn’t me anymore. In the past absolutely, I wanted to be a healer, a helper, someone’s world..
“I’m not saying I’m the only one to ever go through really bad times in my life, not at all, but what I did go through has taught me exactly what I want and need from a partner, and although Kristina has a lot of gorgeous qualities, and is a beautiful human, I just can’t be the support that she needs, and that’s really sad.”
He went on to apologise to Kristina and reminisced about their wedding day before thanking Channel 4 and the cast and crew, for introducing him to Kristina, before adding that anybody who meets her are “lucky”.
